Quick Steps

In Depth Quest Guide

This is a full walk through for the quest, so if you're confused by any of the quick steps, hopefully these can help you out.

Head over to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully and ask Iridessa if she has any quests. The quest should pop up immediately and you'll be able to begin. Upon starting the quest, Iridessa will greet you:

Iridessa: "You know what I think? I think you’ve been a huge help ever since you arrived. You’re a very bright talent!"
"So I think it’s time for you to learn your Talent Skills. And I think I should be the one to teach you!"
"Talent Skills are much more than ordinary skills. They’re the most important things we know. Without them we wouldn’t be able to bring the seasons to the mainland!"
"Every talent guild has their own set of special skills. They’ve been practiced and studied and handed down for as long as anybody can remember."
"The first Light Talent Skill you’ll learn is ILLUMINATE. I’ll teach it to you, but you have to take a few tests first. That’s how light-talents prove they’re really ready."
"How about it? Will you take a few tests so you can learn Illuminate, your very first Talent Skill?"

Step 1

Accept this Quest?

Iridessa: "Shimmerific! Now, basic illumination is used to -- well, to light things up! But it has lots of other uses, too, especially when we’re changing seasons on the mainland."
"Illuminate lets us find lost animals after sundown, or investigate something that’s dark and mysterious. We also use Illuminate to warm up flowers and trees, say, when we change the season from winter to spring."
"Your first test is something you’ve done lots of times before, and it’s all about illumination. I want you to light up fireflies in Twilight Glen!"

Fly to Springtime Orchard. Earn 8,000 points playing Firefly Light-Up in Twilight Glen. Return to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully when you are done!
Progress: # of 8,000

Story So Far

Iridessa wants to teach you your first Talent Skill! Prove you’re ready by lighting up fireflies in Twilight Glen!

When you are finished talking to Iridessa, fly to Springtime Orchard and enter Twilight Glen. Play Firefly Light-Up until you reach a score of at least 8,000 points (whether in one shot or cumulative). When you are finished playing, return to Dessa.

Step 2

I lit up fireflies for Iridessa!

Iridessa: "Excellent! You did great, sunshine!"
"Your next test is ice sparkles. These are the hardest sparkles for light-talents to handle because ice and snow are made of water, not light."
"The only way we can get ice sparkles is to collect whole Snowflakes and melt them! Fly to the winter meadows and gather Snowflakes. Bring them back here before they melt!"

Gather 12 Snowflakes and bring them to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully.
Progress: # of 12

Story So Far

Iridessa wants to teach you your first Talent Skill! Prove you’re ready by gathering Snowflakes!

Your first ingredient collecting task! It's time to gather up some Snowflakes, if you don't have 12 already. Once you get the 12 Snowflakes needed, head on back to Iridessa and give them to her.

Step 3

I have Snowflakes for Iridessa!

Iridessa: "Wow, you really out-shined yourself, Pixie Name Here! That’s a LOT of Snowflakes! ... But they’re already starting to melt. I’ll catch the sparkles real fast and put them in a leaf bag for your next test."
"Almost done! Just one more second ..."
"Okay, here’s a bag full of ice sparkles!"
"Gathering ice sparkles is one thing. Holding onto them is another. It’s easy to hold one or two, but they bounce around when they’re all squashed together like this."
"I want to see if you can keep them under control all the way to Rosetta's Garden in Cherryblossom Heights."

Fly to Rosetta's Garden! You can get there from Cherryblossom Heights.

Story So Far

Iridessa wants to teach you your first Talent Skill! Prove you’re ready by delivering a bagful of jumpy ice sparkles to Rosetta!

Now it is time to visit another Famous Fairy, Rosetta! Fly to her Garden located in Cherryblossom Heights and speak to her.

Step 4

I’m here to see Rosetta!

Rosetta: "Hey there, sugar! Oh! A bag full o’ ice sparkles. They’re jumpin’ around like crickets in there!"
"I asked Iridessa for just a few ice sparkles this mornin’! They’re just perfect for attracting honeybees to my new pansy patch."
"You’d better get back to Iridessa now. Thanks tons for the sparkles!"

Fly back to Iridessa's Glade! You can get there from Sunflower Gully.

Story So Far

Iridessa wants to teach you your first Talent Skill! To prove you’re ready, you delivered ice sparkles to Rosetta. Fly back to Iridessa for your next test!

Now flap back to Sunflower Gully to visit with Dessa again.

Step 5

I’m here to see Iridessa!

Iridessa: "How did it go? You got all the ice sparkles to Rosetta? Excellent! So far you’ve passed every test!"
"The next test may sound easy, but we’ll see. I need you to gather Rose Petals. Why?"
"Well, different plants have different lighting needs. Ivy likes shade, moss can practically grow in the dark, and roses want full sunlight all day long. Light-talents need to know these things."
"So I want you to bring me Rose Petals that look like they’ve gotten just the right amount of light!"

Gather 15 Rose Petals and bring them back to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully.
Progress: # of 15

Story So Far

Iridessa wants to teach you your first Talent Skill! To prove you’re ready, gather Rose Petals!

It’s time for more collecting! But this time Dessa needs Rose Petals. If you don't have 15 already, flit around the Hollow until you have gathered them. Once you get the 15 Rose Petals needed, head on back to Iridessa and give them to her.

Step 6

I have Rose Petals for Iridessa!

Iridessa: "Bless my wings, you did that fast! These petals look nice and healthy. I’d say you know your roses!"
"Well, it’s time for your last test. I need to see how well your ‘brightness sense’ has developed."
"We light-talents need to be able to tell how bright things are, right? I want you to compare the brightness of two different yellow dyes."
"I have one bottle of Daffodil Yellow Dye. You’ll need to get another bottle of yellow from Daisy’s Dyes in Cherryblossom Heights. Why don’t you get Buttercup Yellow?"

Fly to Daisy's Dyes in Cherryblossom Heights and get a bottle of Buttercup Yellow Dye. Bring it to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully when you are done!
Progress: # of 1

Story So Far

Iridessa wants to teach you your first Talent Skill! To prove you’re ready, bring her a bottle of Buttercup Yellow Dye from Daisy’s Dyes in Cherryblossom Heights.

The final step is to head up to Cherryblossom Heights. There you will find Daisy's Dyes. Purchase one bottle of Buttercup Yellow Dye and bring it to Iridessa.

Your Reward

I have Buttercup Yellow Dye for Iridessa!

Iridessa: "Perfect! Now -- which yellow dye do you think is brighter?"
"You’re right. That dye is definitely brighter."
"Pixie Name Here, you passed all your tests brilliantly! It looks like you’ve earned your very first Talent Skill -- ILLUMINATE! Congratulations!"
"Now that you have your first Talent Skill, you’re ready to explore the Wilderness areas of Pixie Hollow."
"Start by practicing your new Illuminate skill in the Silver Trees! You can get there through Pumpkin Patch."
"Remember to bring your friends when you go into the Wilderness, sunshine. You’ll have to work together to finish the challenges you’ll find there!"

You will now be able to perform the Talent Skill Illuminate in all wilderness areas of Pixie Hollow. You will also now notice you have a yellow Pixie Dust Meter at the top of your playing area. You also unlock the following quests upon completion: Learn to Distract and Illuminating the Wilderness.
