Learn to Distract with Dessa (Quest)

Quick Quest Guide
This Quest has 6 steps.What you will need: 30 Blueberries and 20 Acorns. You will also need 10 Acorns, 10 Snowflakes and 3 Honeycombs (to personal bake one batch of Acorn Cookies).
Quick Steps
- Go to Iridessa's Glade and ask her if she has any quests. Pick Learn to Distract.
- Go to the Bubbly Bog in Dewdrop Vale and start a new adventure called Learn to Distract. Complete all the challenges within the adventure and return to Iridessa.
- Gather up 30 Blueberries and bring them to Dessa.
- Gather 20 Acorns and bring them back to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully.
- Earn a score of 8,000 in Firefly Light-Up and return to Iridessa.
- Go to Dulcie's Kitchen in Neverberry Thicket and personal bake a batch of Acorn Cookies.
- Go to the Silver Trees in Pumpkin Patch and start a new adventure called Learn to Distract. Complete all the challenges within the adventure and return to Iridessa.
- Pick your reward and the quest is over.
In Depth Quest Guide
This is a full walk through for the quest, so if you're confused by any of the quick steps, hopefully these can help you out.
Head over to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully and ask her if she has any quests. The quest should pop up immediately and you'll be able to begin. Upon starting the quest, Iridessa will greet you:
Iridessa: "Fairyname here! I’m glad you’re here. I’ve been thinking -- you’ve been to the Wilderness a few times now, and I’ve heard you’re getting pretty good at using Illuminate."
"I think it’s time for you to learn a new Talent Skill. I’m really taking a shine to teaching you!"
"The second Talent Skill you’re going to learn is DISTRACT. It was invented by Haylo, a lengendary light-talent and one of my heroes!"
"Haylo was always working on ways to use light, and she discovered incredible new things. Legend says she invented Distract during a stampede of Sprinting Thistles!"
"The thistles were about to trample Spring Valley flat, but Haylo used light to distract them and make them run back the way they came. She saved everyone!"
"In honor of Haylo, are you ready to learn the Distract Talent Skill?"
Step 1
Iridessa: "Great! But before we start, I want to see you use Illuminate again, just to make sure you’ve got it right."
"You know Daisy Petals aren’t very common in Bubbly Bog, right? Well, the other day I found a budding daisy plant there! I was so surprised!"
"Fly to the Bubbly Bog and use your Illuminate Talent Skill to see if you can spot the daisy plant too! I’m sure with a little light, its buds will open right up!"
Fly to Dewdrop Vale and enter the Bubbly Bog Wilderness. Use your Illuminate skill to find a daisy plant. Return to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully when you are done!

Story So Far
Iridessa is ready to teach you your second Talent Skill, Distract! First show how well you’ve mastered Illuminate by flying to the Bubbly Bog and using Illuminate to find a rare daisy plant.
Leave Iridessa's Glade and fly up to the Bubbly Bog in Dewdrop Vale. Start a new quest and select Learn to Distract. Complete all the challenges and return to Dessa, proving to her that you have mastered the Illuminate skill. Be sure to have enough cookies made prior to entering the Wilderness.
Step 2
Iridessa: "You did? Shimmerific! As for your Illuminate skill, I’d say you’ve got it down!"
"Let’s talk more about Distract. After she invented it, Haylo wrote in her journal about how distraction can be useful -- other than making thistles run the other way."
"Haylo wrote that sometimes distractions can be made even without using a Talent Skill. For instance, blue jays sometimes get in the way of important talent work because they love to chat with the animal-talents."
"One way to distract blue jays is to give them Blueberries, their favorite treat. Why don’t you gather Blueberries for the animal-talents to use the next time they need to distract the jays?"
Gather 30 Blueberries and bring them to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully.

Story So Far
Iridessa is teaching you your second Talent Skill, Distract! Show her you understand how distraction can work on pesky animals by gathering Blueberries!
So, once you're finished talking to Dessa, it's time to gather up some Blueberries, if you don't have 30 already. Once you get the required 30 Blueberries, head back to Iridessa to continue the quest.
Step 3
Iridessa: "Flickerific! Now to the next point in Haylo’s journal -- she wrote about how simple distractions can scare away Fairy enemies like hawks and rats."
"That’s a good thing because the scout-talents have spotted rats near Springtime Orchard!"
"Naturally the Minister of Spring is worried about the garden-talents who are working there, bagging seeds for the change of seasons on the Mainland."
"We need to scare away those rats! Go gather some Acorns. The tinker-talents are building an ‘Acorn shower’ to distract the rats and scare them off"
Gather 20 Acorns and bring them to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully.

Story So Far
Iridessa is teaching you your second Talent Skill, Distract! Show her that you understand how distraction can work on dangerous animals by gathering Acorns!
This time, you need to gather up some Acorns, if you don't have 20 already. Once you get the 20 Acorns needed, return to Iridessa and talk to her again.
Step 4
Iridessa: "Whoa, those are big ones! A shower of those will scare away the rats, all right!"
"Here’s yet another way to distract -- with LIGHT itself! Haylo says light can lure things TO you or AWAY from you. It can drive off creatures that don’t like bright light or attract ones that do."
"Moths can be pesky sometimes, and they love bright light. Show me how well you can lure them away while helping me light up fireflies in Twilight Glen!"
"Let’s fly to Twilight Glen in Springtime Orchard and light up fireflies!"
Fly to Springtime Orchard. Earn 8,000 points playing Firefly Light-Up in Twilight Glen. Return to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully when you are done!

Story So Far
Iridessa is teaching you your second Talent Skill! Show her that you understand how to lure moths away while you light up fireflies in Twilight Glen!
When you're finished talking to Iridessa, head up to Springtime Orchard. There you will find the Firefly Light-Up game. Once you earn a score of 8,000 points (whether in one shot or cumulative), head back over to see Iridessa.
Step 5
Iridessa: "You did a flickerific job, sunshine! Now it’s almost time for you to fly into the Wilderness for your last lesson in Distract!"
"But you have to prepare. NEVER fly into the Wilderness without pixie-dust-filled cookies! You never know when you’ll need a few extra smidges of dust!"
"Go to Dulcie’s Kitchen in Neverberry Thicket and bake the most pixie-dust-filled Acorn Cookies you can!"
Fly to Dulcie's Kitchen in Neverberry Thicket. Use Personal baking to make some Acorn Cookies Return to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully and give this item to Iridessa when you are done!

Iridessa is teaching you your second Talent Skill! Show her you understand the importance of pixie dust by baking Acorn Cookies at Dulcie’s Kitchen!
Flap over to Dulcie's Kitchen in Neverberry Thicket. Make one batch of Acorn Cookies ~ be sure to choose Personal Baking. Return to Dessa when you are done baking.
Step 6
Iridessa: "Mmm. that fresh-baked smell is the best! I’ll only take one because you’ll need the rest for your last task."
"Fairyname here, I’ve heard that some Fairies have found very interesting stones in the Silver Trees. They even say that some of the stones there are shiny!"
"Use Illuminate to find a shiny stone and bring it back here! I can’t wait to study it!"
"Don’t forget to pack your cookies -- and you might want to take some friends with you!"
Fly to Pumpkin Patch and enter the Silver Trees Wilderness. Use your Illuminate skill to find a shiny stone. Return to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully when you are done!

Story So Far
Iridessa is teaching you your second Talent Skill! Show her how well you can use pixie dust in the Wilderness by using Illuminate to find a shiny stone in the Silver Trees.
Leave Iridessa's Glade and fly to Pumpkin Patch. Enter the Silver Trees Wilderness and start a new quest. Select the Learn to Distract adventure. Complete all the challenges and return to Iridessa.
Iridessa: "Excellent! Those Bits of Metal you found inside the stone are perfect for making bright, distracting reflections. Sunshine, you’re really starting to understand the principles of distraction!"
"You’ve just earned your second Light Talent Skill -- DISTRACT! Congratulations!"
"Don’t forget to practice BOTH of your Talent Skills, sunshine! And remember to take friends with you to the Wilderness. You’ll need their help to finish your tasks there!"
Your Reward
You will now be able to perform the Talent Skill Distract in all wilderness areas of Pixie Hollow. You also unlock the following quest upon completion: Learn to Grow.
