In Depth Quest Guide
This is a full walk through for the quest, so if you're confused by any of the quick steps, hopefully these can help you out.
Head over to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully and ask Iridessa if she has any quests. The quest should pop up immediately and you'll be able to begin. Upon starting the quest, Iridessa will greet you:
Iridessa: "You know what I think, sunshine? I think you’ve been a huge help to everyone since the day you Arrived. I think you’re a very bright talent!"
"So I think it’s time for you to learn your Talent Skills. And I think I should be the one to teach you!"
"Talent Skills are much more than ordinary Fairy skills. They’re the most important things we know. Without them we wouldn’t be able to bring the seasons to the Mainland!"
"Every talent guild has their own set of special skills. They’ve been practiced and studied and handed down from Fairy to Fairy for as long as anybody can remember."
"The first Light Talent Skill you’ll learn is ILLUMINATE. I’ll teach it to you, but you have to take a few tests first. That’s how light-talents prove they’re really ready."
"How about it? Will you take a few tests so you can learn Illuminate, your very first Talent Skill?"
Step 1
Iridessa: "Shimmerific! Now, basic illumination is used to -- well, to light things up! But it has lots of other uses, too, especially when we’re changing seasons on the Mainland."
"Illuminate lets us find lost animals after sundown, or investigate something that’s dark and mysterious."
"We also use Illuminate to warm up flowers and trees, say, when we change the season from winter to spring."
"Your first test is something you’ve done lots of times before, and it’s all about illumination. I want you to light up fireflies in Twilight Glen!"
Fly to Springtime Orchard. Earn 8,000 points playing Firefly Light-Up in Twilight Glen. Return to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully when you are done!

Step 2
Iridessa: "Excellent! You did great, sunshine!"
"Your next test is ice sparkles. These are the hardest sparkles for light-talents to handle because ice and snow are made of water, not light."
"The only way we can get ice sparkles is to collect whole Snowflakes and melt them!"
"Fly to Winter Woods and gather Snowflakes. Bring them back here before they melt!"
Gather 12 Snowflakes and bring them to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully.

Iridessa: "Wow, you really out-shined yourself, Fairyname here! That’s a LOT of Snowflakes!"
"They’re already starting to melt. I’ll catch the sparkles real fast and put them in a leaf bagyou’re your next test."
"Almost done! Just one more second ..."
"Okay, here’s a bag full of ice sparkles!"
"Gathering ice sparkles is one thing. Holding onto them is another. It’s easy to hold one or two, but they bounce around when they’re all squashed together like this."
"I want to see if you can keep them under control all the way to Rosetta's Garden way up in Cherryblossom Heights."
Fly to Rosetta's Garden! You can get there from Cherryblossom Heights.

Iridessa: "How did it go? You got all the ice sparkles to Rosetta? Excellent! So far you’ve passed every test!"
"The next test may sound easy, but we’ll see. I need you to gather Rose Petals. Why?"
"Well, different plants have different lighting needs. Ivy likes shade, moss can practically grow in the dark, and roses want full sunlight all day long. Light-talents need to know these things."
"So I want you to bring me Rose Petals that look like they’ve gotten just the right amount of light!"
Gather 15 Rose Petals and bring them back to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully.

"Well, it’s time for your last test. I need to see how well your ‘brightness sense’ has developed."
"We light-talents need to be able to tell how bright things are, right? I want you to compare the brightness of two different yellow dyes."
"I already have a bottle of Buttercup Yellow Dye. You’ll need to get a bottle of [sic] Daisy’s Dyes in Cherryblossom Heights."
Fly to Daisy's Dyes in Cherryblossom Heights and get a bottle of Buttercup Yellow Dye. Bring it to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully when you are done!
