Bright Lights for Winter (Quest)

Upon completion, you will receive a 2011 Ice Palace Key badge. Prerequisites: None. Released: 8 December 2011 Retired: 3 January 2012

Quick Quest Guide

This Quest has 9 step.

What you will need: 15 Twigs, 15 Dandelion Fluff and 117 Spider Silk (to purchase a Maple Brown Bubble'n'Boil Kettle).

Sweet Tea Light: 15 Spider Silk, 5 Acorns, 2 Yellow Gems and 10 Pine Needles (to purchase 1 Bottle of Carnation White Dye).

Quick Steps

• Go to Silvermist's Grotto and ask if she has any quests. Pick Bright Lights for Winter.
• Earn a score of 30,000 points in Sunbeam Bend, then return to Silvermist.
• Personal Tinker a Sweet Tea Light using Carnation White Dye and give it to Sil.
• Earn a score of 15,000 points in Gem Juggle, then return to Silvermist.
• Gather 15 Twigs and give them to Silvermist.
• Gather 15 Dandelion Fluff and give them to Silvermist.
• Go to Tinker's Nook and talk to Tinker Bell.
• Return to Silvermist.
• Search for 6 Broken Lanterns in Winter Woods, fix them and return to Silvermist.
• Purchase a Maple Brown Bubble'n'Boil Kettle from Harmony's Home Collections and give this item to Sil.
• Pick your reward and the quest is over.

In Depth Quest Guide

This is a full walk through for the quest, so if you're confused by any of the quick steps, hopefully these can help you out.

Head over to Silvermist's Grotto in Dewdrop Vale and ask her if she has any quests. The quest should pop up immediately and you'll be able to begin. Upon starting the quest, Silvermist will greet you:

Silvermist: "Raindrop! Oh, I'm so glad you're here because I really need your help! Oh, it's not an emergency or anything. But it is important."
"The frost-talents are working round the clock to make snowflakes and such for winter on the mainland. They're very busy!"
"I'm helping Iridessa make sure they have enough light to work during the night. I could use some help. Are you up for it?"

Step 1

Accept this Quest?

Once you agree, Silvermist is thrilled and gives you the first step.

Silvermist: "Oh, thank you! Let's start by collecting sunbeams. Will you get some by playing Sunbeam Bend? I bet Iridessa is there right now!"

Fly to Sunflower Gully. Earn 30,000 points playing Sunbeam Bend. Return to Silvermist's Grotto in Dewdrop Vale when you are done!

You're helping Silvermist bring light to the night-working frost-talents. Play Sunbeam Bend!

Your first task is some talent game practice! Play Sunbeam Bend in Sunflower Gully. Once you reach a score of 30,000 points (whether in one shot or cumulative), quit the game or play until you finish then return to Silvermist.

Step 2

I have sunbeams for Silvermist!

Silvermist: "Great! Drop the sunbeams in this bag so I can carry them to the winter meadows later. For now I'll set them aside."
"While you were gone, I got a message from Rimey Frostleaf, a snowflake maker. He needs a Sweet Tea Light for some close-up work."
"Will you fly to Copper's Tinkering Nook and make him a Sweet Tea Light? He asked us to dye it Carnation White."

Fly to Copper's Tinkering Nook in Maple Tree Hill. Use Personal Tinkering to make a Sweet Tea Light. Use Carnation White Dye from Colette's Colors in Chilly Falls. Fly to Silvermist's Grotto in Dewdrop Vale and give this item to Silvermist when you are done!

You're helping Silvermist bring light to the night-working frost-talents. Fly to Copper's Tinkering Nook and make a Carnation White Sweet Tea Light!

The first thing you need to do for this step is make sure you have a Bottle of Carnation White Dye. If you do not, fly up to Chilly Falls and enter Colette's Colors. Purchase your bottle of dye, which will cost you 10 Pine Needles. Once you have your dye, flap down to Maple Tree Hill and enter Copper's Tinkering Nook. Now pick Personal Tinkering and choose Sweet Tea Light from the list. Make sure to use your Carnation White Dye in one of the two color choices (it does not matter what you choose as the second color)! After you have tinkered the sweet tea light, return to Silvermist and give it to her.

Step 3

I tinkered a Sweet Tea Light for Silvermist!

Silvermist: "Oh, that's so pretty! Great tinkering job, raindrop! I'll take this to Rimey Frostleaf right away!"
"While I do, you need to get some bright sparkly gems. They can provide almost as much light as a candle!"
"Go collect bright gems by playing Gem Juggle. I bet you'll run into Iridessa again!"

Fly to Chilly Falls. Earn 15,000 points playing Gem Juggle. Return to Silvermist's Grotto in Dewdrop Vale when you are done!

Your next task is more talent game practice! Play Gem Juggle in Chilly Falls. Once you reach a score of 15,000 points (whether in one shot or cumulative), quit the game or play until you finish then return to Silvermist.

Step 4

I have bright gems for Silvermist!

Silvermist: "Thanks, dewdrop! These gems will cast a lot of light after I set them in the trees in the winter meadows."
"Now we need help from Tinker Bell. I want her to make some torches, but let's gather the building materials first. Gather Twigs!"

Gather 15 Twigs and bring them to Silvermist's Grotto in Dewdrop Vale.

An ingredient collecting task! You are looking for Twigs if you don't have 15 already. Once you get the required 15 Twigs, give them to Silvermist.

Step 5

I have Twigs for Silvermist!

Silvermist: "Splashtastic! Now, torches are also made with Dandelion Fluff, so go gather Dandelion Fluff!"

Gather 15 Dandelion Fluff and bring them to Silvermist's Grotto in Dewdrop Vale.

Another ingredient collecting task! This time you are searching for Dandelion Fluff if you don't have 15 already. Once you get the required 15 Dandelion Fluff, give them to Silvermist.

Step 6

I have Dandelion Fluff for Silvermist!

Silvermist: "Good, we're ready to make torches! That is, TINK is ready. Will you take these materials and go ask Tink to make torches for us?"

Fly to Tinker's Nook. You can get there from Cottonpuff Field!

Story So Far

You're helping Silvermist bring light to the night-working frost-talents. Go visit Tinker Bell!

A Famous Fairy visit is your next task! Go to Cottonpuff Field and enter Tinker's Nook so you can speak to Tinker Bell.

Step 7

I'm here to see Tinker Bell!

Tinker Bell: "Hi there, Pixie Name Here! What's flapping?"
"Torches, huh? Sure, I can make you torches in no time, especially since you've brought the materials."
"Why don't you fly back to Silvermist? I'll make the torches and deliver them in Cheese's mouse wagon when I'm done, okay?"

Fly to Silvermist's Grotto. You can get there from Dewdrop Vale!

Fly back to Dewdrop Vale and enter Silvermist's Grotto. Speak with Sil again.

Step 8

I'm here to see Silvermist!

Silvermist: "Oh good, you're back. We have to take care of something right away!"
"I just got a message saying that six lanterns in the winter meadows are broken. The frost-talents need that lantern light!"
"Will you search all the winter meadows, find the six broken lanterns, and fix them all?"

Search the winter meadows for 6 Broken Lanterns. When you find them, fix them by clicking on them. Return to Silvermist's Grotto in Dewdrop Vale when you are done!

Story So Far

You're helping Silvermist bring light to the night-working frost-talents. Search the winter meadows for 6 Broken Lanterns and fix them by clicking on them!

This task can be a little tricky. You must search Snowcap Glade, Evergreen Overlook and Chilly Falls carefully for the six broken lanterns. Each meadow will have 2 broken lanterns. When you find one, click on the broken lantern to fix it! Click here for the locations of all the broken lanterns. Once you have fixed all the lanterns, flit back to Silvermist.

Step 9

I fixed the broken lanterns!

Silvermist: "Excellent, raindrop! While you were busy, Tinker Bell delivered the torches, plus she gave us some of her Pick-Me-Up Tea mix."
"I think we should make some Pick-Me-Up Tea for those hard-working frost-talents. But we need a kettle."
"Will you fly to Harmony's Home Collection and get a Bubble'n'Boil Kettle?"

Fly to Harmony's Home Collections in Neverberry Thicket and get a Bubble'n'Boil Kettle. Bring it to Silvermist's Grotto in Dewdrop Vale when you are done!

To complete this task, you need to purchase an item from Harmony's Home Collections, which is located in Neverberry Thicket. Flap your wings over and enter the shop. Buy the Maple Brown Bubble'n'Boil Kettle for 117 Spider Silk. Return to Silvermist and give her this item.

I got a Bubble'n'Boil Kettle for Silvermist!

Silvermist: "Perfect! I guess this means our work is done. Thank you so much for helping me, raindrop. Here, I have something special for you."
