Quick Steps

In Depth Quest Guide

This is a full walk through for the quest, so if you're confused by any of the quick steps, hopefully these can help you out.

Head over to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully and ask her if she has any quests. If you have finished the quest Getting In Truffle, the quest should appear in the list of quests you may do and you can begin immediately. Upon starting the quest, Iridessa will greet you:

Iridessa: "Pixie Name Here! I did it! I did it! I captured actual, real starshine twinkles! This is so flickerific! I can't wait to study them!"
"I was hoping you could help me do that. I mean, you were such a big help with the Starshine Box and everything..."

Step 1

Accept this Quest?

Once you agree, Iridessa is thrilled and gives you the first step.

Iridessa: "Shimmerific! This is going to be interesting, because Silvermist once told me that water sparkles give off softer light than light sparkles."
"That makes me wonder about twinkles. Do they give off more or less light than sparkles?"
"I'll need dewdrops to find out. Can you get me some by playing Water Web?"

Fly to Neverberry Thicket. Earn 10,000 points playing Water Web. Return to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully when you are done!
Progress: # of 10,000

"Oh, I'm so glad! This is going to be very interesting, you know."
"I was thinking about what Silvermist told you. Remember? She said that water sparkles give off softer light than light sparkles."
"I'll need dewdrops to find out. Can you get me some at Spider Silk Grotto? Silvermist is probably there gathering them from spider webs."
This step originally asked to earn 15,000 points in Water Web.
Earn 15,000 points playing Water Web in Spider Silk Grotto.
Iridessa captured starshine twinkles! She's going to study them, and you're helping! First you need to get dewdrops from Spider Silk Grotto.

Step 2

I have dewdrops for Iridessa!

Iridessa: "Thanks for the dewdrops! Oh, I can't wait to compare their sparkles to the twinkles! Hold on..."
"Hmm... I see!"
"Interesting. It looks like starshine twinkles give off even softer light than water sparkles! This calls for more study."
"I want to compare twinkles to different kinds of ice sparkles. I'll collect icicles over in Chilly Falls."
"While I do that, will you go play Snowflake Sweep to get snowflakes? Oh but wait -- we'd better not fly in the winter meadows without wearing something warm."
"Can you help me get something warm to wear? How about a new top? Could you tailor one for me? Any style top, any color you like!"

Fly to Bobbin's Tailoring Nook in Springtime Orchard. Personal Tailor any top you like using any color dye. Fly to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully and give the finished item to Iridessa when you are done!

"I see!"
"While I do that, will you fly to Blustery Brush and help the Minister of Winter collect snow? I'm sure she'll let you bring a bag back."
"Wait -- I don't dare fly in Winter Woods without something to keep me warm. It's so cold there we might catch the Fairy Flu!"
"Can you help me get something before we go? Oh! Oh! How about a Down Feather Sweater! Gale has them in her shop in Snowcap Glade. That would be perfect!"

Step 5

I'm here to see Tinker Bell!

Editor’s Note: The original message for this step was the following line of text, which was changed.
I need to see Tinker Bell!

Tinker Bell: "Hey, Pixie Name Here! Check it out -- I'm making a new measuring rope so that Terence can keep an eye on his pixie dust supply!"

"Say hello to 'Dessa for me. Fly safely!"

Step 6

I have pixie dust for Iridessa!

Iridessa: "Excellent! I have an idea that I can't wait to test!"
"Whoa! Shimmering sunbeams, look look at that!"
"I knew it! I just knew it! Twinkle light is COLD! Most other light is WARM! If that isn't fascinating, I don't know what is!"
"But that sort of blasts my idea of using twinkles for anything practical. I mean, their light is soft, they're silver, and they're cold. What good is that? They're useless!"
"Wait, what am I saying? I can't give up so easily! Besides, I haven't considered the most important thing of all -- the changing of the seasons!"
"WAIT, THAT'S IT! Pixie Name Here, I need lit fireflies to test something. Come on, let's play Firefly Light-Up!"

Fly to Springtime Orchard. Earn 10,000 points playing Firefly Light-Up in Twilight Glen. Return to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully when you are done!

"Wow, look at that!"
"Bless my wings, I knew it! I just knew it!"
"My theory is correct! Twinkle light is COLD!
"But all my tests have sort of blasted my idea of ever using twinkles for anything practical. I mean, their light is so soft, they're silver, and they're really cold..."
"...no good for lighting or plant growth... can't use them for fireworks or rainbows or..."
"Oh, who am I kidding? Starshine just doesn't have a use."
"Wait, what am I saying? I can't give up so easily! I just need to think harder!"
"What about the most important thing of all -- the changing of the seasons? How can we use soft, silver, cold twinkles for the changing of the -- "
"I've got it! Let's go to Twilight Glen! We'll light up the fireflies, and when we're done I'll be able to try something out!"

Your Reward

I lit up fireflies with Iridessa!

Editor’s Note: The original message for this step was the following line of text, which was changed.
I finished lighting up fireflies with Iridessa!

Iridessa: "Thanks for the help, sunshine. Once the fireflies were lit, flew off to play. Twilight Glen was really dark without them, and I could perform my experiment!"
"I wanted to see what starshine twinkles would do in a dark place. They floated! And they never winked out!"
"That means they have a use after all! See, when we go to the mainland each season, we have so much to do that we're always there after dark."
"But the starshine twinkles can give us light until we finish our jobs! Oh, I can't wait to tell Queen Clarion! Thanks so much for your help, Pixie Name Here!"
"Oh, and here. I made this just for you!"
"You've really outshined yourself!"

Editor’s Note: The original text of this quest included these lines of dialogue, which were changed.

"Oh, I can't wait to tell Queen Clarion what we've discovered! Thanks so much for your help, Fairyname Here!"
"Oh! And here! You know that sweater you brought me? Well, I made some changes using dye I made from the starshine twinkles and snow..."
"It's shimmerific! Just like you, Fairyname Here!"
