Another possible configuration
This way we can get many more images on one grid AND have them labled without having separate lines for all.It looks more messy that way, I think it should be the way it was before, because it separates them, if somebody wanted to find a certain one, it would be much more difficult. --Haveamagicalday

Good point spin :) I guess we can do that :). I'll change it to your way, I have a question though, how do you get a pic of the old items like you did? Did you use the pic here on the site and crop it and then upload it? --Haveamagicalday
I'll go ahead and work on this aspect as I haven't contributed much in the last few months. I happen to have a large inventory and photos (old and new) of most when I was preparing to do this previously. I noticed you were gone for awhile, welcome back! I've been taking pics of images that have been changed since you created this page, I've been bored waiting in my contest room for a HOST_ to pop up lol. I'll re-upload them then to the current images we have here, to the new ones. --Haveamagicalday
wait wait wait. My suggestion . . . upload the old photos as "itemname0.jpg" (note the "0") and then we can upload the new photos under the existing title on thier image page so that we don't have to fix every item page!! I have seen that one, and I thought you were uploading the old ones. When I uploaded the new Ace Of Spades Carpet image, I noticed after I already uploaded it, that the file name of the old one was different. The name of the item was wrong, which I wasn't expecting. I did change the pages that used that image though. I knew that the old ones should have the "O" in the file name, which again, I thought you had the images of. That page will have to be deleted then (the old image), and then upload the new image? I'll keep my eye out more on the file name of the images, so this hopefully won't happen again. I like your idea however the idea of this page is to 1) show a side-by-side comparison, and 2) show the history of the inventory photos. The big grid shows both of the goals. Now, maybe it would be a good idea to split the grid into several parts (ie: music, rugs, etc., like the main page inventory list). Why a separate page?
I'm a little curious why we're making a separate page dedicated to the photos instead of adding them to the item's page itself? --Prisoner 05:07, 31 December 2007 (CST)
I think that is just what Up was mentioning. I hadn't given it much thought but it seems that it WOULD be better to put it on each items page. That way the history of that item is intact. --SpinMarty 09:15, 31 December 2007 (CST)
Exactly...I really wanted to have the changes and inventory picture history associated with the item page and I think this is the right solution. I still think we can keep the page about inventory pic changes and just have examples there like making the item smaller to bit the box or rotation. Also on this page would be nice to perhaps just list or link to the items have have had this change (or use DPL?). Just a thought. At least I think we should note that history can be seen on an item's individual page as many users still do not realize that clicking on an item link can give them additional information not found in our tables. Well, if we aren't going to use this page to list them all, and we would put them on the item's page itself, then this page is pretty much useless. I don't see how using DPL would work in this case, because there are many pages, not just four or so like we did on the Checklist page. I'll continue to help put up the pics I can on this page, until we decide what to do, so we can have the pics to use for what ever we're going to do with them. --Haveamagicalday
I was trying to do this along with the sells for info, but right now figure should focus on one at a time. Most of the ALR items have been rotated it seems, I caught some of the later ones. I still think it would be better to have such information associated with the item page itself...and in terms of DPR, if we categorize the pages with something like Category:Inventory Image History we could use DPL on this page to create a list of all items that are in this category. Pictures

What do you mean "bigger"? I just checked the Sub Middle picture, and the new picture does match what is currently shown in VMK. --Prisoner 12:54, 9 January 2008 (CST)
The picture listed as the current is bigger and more cropped off than the old, but the page says pictures were changed to make the items smaller in order to fit them. --Scootz 15:46, 9 January 2008 (CST) (Talk | contribs)

This may be using DPL, but this looks bad in my opinion, it doesn't show which one is current, I'm getting confused with some of them, because they are rotated, and I have to see the item page itself, to find out which is which. --Haveamagicalday 18:11, 9 January 2008 (CST)
