Sil's Snowflakes (Quest)

Back to the Pixie Hollow Quests for Members page Sil's Snowflakes is a quest you can get from Silvermist that was released for the 2012 Great Winter Light-Up. Upon completion, you will get the following as your reward: 2012 Ice Palace Key badge. Prerequisites: None. Released: 4 December 2012 Retired: 3 January 2013

Quick Quest Guide

This Quest has 7 steps.

What you will need: 15 Snowflakes, and 10 Spider Silk (to purchase 1 bottle of Electric Orange Dye).

Quick Steps

• Go to Silvermist's Grotto and ask if she has any quests. Pick Sil's Snowflakes.
• Gather 15 Snowflakes and give them to Silvermist.
• Fly to Rosetta's Garden in Cherryblossom Heights and speak to Rosetta.
• Return to Silvermist's Grotto in Dewdrop Vale and speak to Sil again.
• Fly over to Daisy's Dyes in Cherryblossom Heights and purchase a bottle of Electric Orange Dye and give it to Silvermist.
• Earn a score of 8,500 points playing Fairy Fireworks, then return to Silvermist.
• Earn a score of 4,000 points playing Snowflake Sweep, then return to Silvermist.
• Help Silvermist search Dewdrop Vale to find 6 Special Snowflakes that are pink, purple or green. Hurry back to Silvermist once you find all six Special Snowflakes.
• Pick your reward and the quest is over.

In Depth Quest Guide

This is a full walk through for the quest, so if you're confused by any of the quick steps, hopefully these can help you out.

Head over to Silvermist's Grotto in Dewdrop Vale and ask her if she has any quests. The quest should pop up immediately and you'll be able to begin. Upon starting the quest, Silvermist will greet you:

Silvermist: "Dewdrop, you won't believe this! I was all ready to help Iridessa put up lights for the Great Winter Light-Up event..."
"But she has it under control. So I asked myself, "Sil, what else can you help with?" And I answered, "Make snowflakes for the mainland!"
"Yes, I know that only winter-talents can do that. We water-talents can use our magic on snowflakes, but we can't create them."
"But I spoke to Periwinkle about it, and she asked all the winter pixies, and they said YES! I'm so excited! Want to help me?"

Step 1

Accept this Quest?

Accept the quest and Silvermist is thrilled and gives you the first step.

Silvermist: "Splashtastic! Now, can you guess HOW I'm going to make snowflakes? Periwinkle used her winter magic and touched my fingers."
"Honest, that's all it took! Now my fingers feel all freezy, but it doesn't hurt. And I can make snowflakes!"
"Well, actually, they've been kind of ugly so far. I need to practice. Will you gather some real Snowflakes for me to study?"

Gather 15 Snowflakes and bring them to Silvermist's Grotto in Dewdrop Vale.

Story So Far

You're helping Silvermist make winter snowflakes. Gather Snowflakes!

An ingredient collecting task! You are looking for Snowflakes if you don't have 15 already. Once you get the required 15 Snowflakes, bring them to Silvermist.

Step 2

I have Snowflakes for Silvermist!

Silvermist: "Thanks, little sprinkle! Now let's take a close look at these..."
"Hm. I never really noticed that snowflakes are flat. But do they have to be? What if I made curly ones? Now THAT would be creative!"
"I need some kind of curly leaf to study. Will you go see if Rosetta has anything like that in her garden?"

Fly to Rosetta's Garden. You can get there from Cherryblossom Heights!

Story So Far

You're helping Silvermist make winter snowflakes. Visit Rosetta!

Flap on over to Rosetta's Garden in Cherryblossom Heights and speak to Rosetta to see if she has a curly leaf for Sil.

Step 3

I'm here to see Rosetta!

Rosetta: "Hi there, sugar! Have you come to help me harvest the cherry tomatoes? Hoo, they're so big I can hardly carry one!"
"Oh, Silvermist needs a curly leaf? Wait here a flap, I have just the thing!"
"Here we go!"
"Curly lettuce! I picked a bunch for today's dinner salad, but you can have this leaf. Take it to Silvermist right away!"

Fly to Silvermist's Grotto. You can get there from Dewdrop Vale!

Hurry back to Silvermist's Grotto in Dewdrop Vale and speak with Silvermist again.

Step 4

I have curly lettuce for Silvermist!

Silvermist: "Flaptastic! This lettuce leaf will make a perfect curly snowflake pattern!"
"While you were gone, I was thinking about other ways to make super creative snowflakes. Do you like Electric Orange?"
"Imagine it - a meadow sprinkled with Electric Orange snowflakes! Fly to Daisy's Dyes and get a bottle of Electric Orange Dye!"

Fly to Daisy's Dyes in Cherryblossom Heights and get a bottle of Electric Orange Dye. Bring it to Silvermist's Grotto in Dewdrop Vale when you are done!

Story So Far

You're helping Silvermist make winter snowflakes. Get a bottle of Electric Orange Dye from Daisy's Dyes!

Fly up to Cherryblossom Heights and enter Daisy's Dyes. Buy 1 bottle of Electric Orange Dye, which will cost you 10 Spider Silk. Return to Silvermist after you have made your purchase.

Step 5

I have a bottle of Electric Orange Dye for Silvermist!

Silvermist: "Ripple-rific! Oh, and I thought of another idea for super creative snowflakes - sparkles!"
"I mean, have you ever seen a sparkly snowflake? Well, not yet you haven't!"
"I need fireworks sparkles from the Minister of Autumn. I bet he'll give you some if you play Fairy Fireworks!"

Fly to Acorn Summit. Earn 8,500 points playing Fairy Fireworks. Return to Silvermist's Grotto when you are done!

Time for some talent game practice! Flit over to Acorn Summit and play Fairy Fireworks until you reach a score of 8,500 points (whether in one shot or cumulative). When you are finished playing, return to Silvermist.

Step 6

I have fireworks sparkles for Silvermist!

Silvermist: "Thanks, little sprinkle. Oh, I got another idea! How about making snowflakes in all the colors of the rainbow?"
"Well, maybe not ALL the colors. Let's start with pink, green and purple. Will you get me some to study by playing Snowflake Sweep?"

Fly to Evergreen Overlook. Earn 4,000 points playing Snowflake Sweep. Return to Silvermist's Grotto in Dewdrop Vale when you are done!

More talent game practice! Play Snowflake Sweep in Evergreen Overlook. Once you reach a score of 4,000 points (whether in one shot or cumulative), return to Silvermist.

Step 7

I have colorful snowflakes for Silvermist!

Silvermist: "Splashtacular! Or should I say freeze-arific? Frost-tastic? Well, whatever. I need to put these snowflakes away before they melt!"
"Goodness glaciers, what are you doing here?! Shoo! Go away! Hey, wait a minute - !!"
"Pixie Name Here, a Shimmer Jay just flew in the window and took the bag of snowflakes! Oh, those silly birds always do thinks like this!"
"And he scattered a bunch of them all over Dewdrop Vale! Oh, dewdrop, you have to find them before they melt!"

Search Dewdrop Vale to find 6 Special Snowflakes that are pink, purple or green. Return to Silvermist's Grotto when you are done!

Story So Far

A Shimmer Jay has scattered Silvermist's colorful snowflakes all over Dewdrop Vale. Search for 6 Special Snowflakes in Dewdrop Vale!

This last task can be a little tricky. You must help Silvermist search Dewdrop Vale to find 6 Special Snowflakes that are pink, purple or green. When you find one, click on the Special Snowflake to collect it! Click here for the locations of all the Special Snowflakes that were scattered across Dewdrop Vale. Once you have collected the required six, flit back to Silvermist.

Silvermist: "Oh, thank you! My very first chance to make snowflakes, and I thought I'd failed before I even began!"
"You are the BEST, little sprinkle! Here, you've really earned this."
"This key will get you into the Minister of Winter's amazing Ice Palace starting December 21. You'll find lots of fun winter surprises there!"
"Oh, and when you're there, keep an eye out for the Snow Weasel. I hear he's in there being silly. Enjoy his antics, and thank you again!"

You'll receive the 2012 Ice Palace Key badge, as shown below. You will also earn 75 Talent Points.
