Help Save Winter (Quest)

Back to the Pixie Hollow Quests for Members page Help Save Winter is a quest you can get from Silvermist that was released to prepare for the Winter Wonderland Party. Upon completion, you will receive a Ice Palace Key badge. Prerequisites: None. Released: 9 December 2010 Retired: 6 January 2011

Quick Quest Guide

This Quest has 8 step.

What you will need: 35 Spider Silk (to purchase a Pale Purple Pollen Carrier Collection), another 93 Spider Silk (to purchase a Cloudy Blue Tinker Pot) and 30 Snowflakes.

Quick Steps

• Go to Silvermist's Grotto and ask if she has any quests. Pick Help Save Winter.
• Go to Iridessa's Glade and talk to Iridessa.
• Purchase a Pale Purple Pollen Carrier Collection from Treetop Housewares and give this item to Iridessa.
• Return to Silvermist.
• Earn a score of 8,000 points in Snowflake Sweep, then return to Silvermist.
• Purchase a Cloudy Blue Tinker Pot from Treetop Housewares and give this item to Sil.
• Go to Tinker's Nook and talk to Tinker Bell.
• Return to Silvermist.
• Gather 30 Snowflakes and give them to Silvermist.
• Pick your reward and the quest is over.

In Depth Quest Guide

This is a full walk through for the quest, so if you're confused by any of the quick steps, hopefully these can help you out.

Head over to Silvermist's Grotto in Dewdrop Vale and ask her if she has any quests. The quest should pop up immediately and you'll be able to begin. Upon starting the quest, Silvermist will greet you:

Silvermist: "Oh Pixie Name Here, we have a problem. A big problem. Winter isn't cold enough on the mainland this year!"
"The Minister of Winter says that if we can't figure out a way to bring the temperature down, winter will end too early!"
"The snow will melt too fast, and that will make spring come too soon, and well, that will totally mess up the timing of ALL the seasons!"
"We have to think of something! Can you help me?"

Step 1

Accept this Quest?

Once you agree, Silvermist is thrilled and gives you the first step.

Silvermist: "Oh, thank you, raindrop! Too bad I don't have any clever ideas about what to do."
"Wait, I know! Let's ask Iridessa! She's brilliant!"
"I'll stay here and keep thinking. You go talk to Iridessa, okay?"

Fly to Iridessa's Glade. You can get there from Sunflower Gully!

Story So Far

You're helping Silvermist save winter on the mainland. Visit Iridessa!

Your first task is to pay a visit to another Famous Fairy, Iridessa! Dessa can be found in Sunflower Gully. Fly to her and talk to her.

Step 2

I'm here to see Iridessa!

Iridessa: "Hey, what's the matter, sunshine? WHAT?! Oh dear! We'd better think of something quick! Give me a minute ..."
"Okay, thinking ... thinking ... thinking ..."
"I've got it! COLD BEAMS! Beams of light that are COLD! They could shine all winter on the mainland and keep the temperature just right!"
"Of course, there's no such thing as Cold Beams YET, but I bet Silvermist can figure out how to make them. Let's see, she'll need moonbeams. I already have some!"
"Let's put them in separate containers so Sil can experiment with them more easily. Go get a Pollen Carrier Collection from Treetop Housewares!"

Fly to Treetop Housewares in Treetop Bend and get a Pollen Carrier Collection. Take it to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully when you are done!

Story So Far

Iridessa has an idea how to help Silvermist save winter on the mainland. Fly to Treetop Housewares and get a Pollen Carrier Collection!

To complete this task, you need to purchase an item from Treetop Housewares, which is located in Treetop Bend. Flap your wings over and enter the shop. Buy the Pale Purple Pollen Carrier Collection for 35 Spider Silk. Return to Iridessa and give her this item.

Step 3

I got a Pollen Carrier Collection for Iridessa!

Iridessa: "Sparktacular! Now take it to Silvermist and tell her my idea."
"I KNOW she can invent Cold Beams and save winter!"

Fly to Silvermist's Grotto. You can get there from Dewdrop Vale!

Story So Far

Iridessa has an idea to help Silvermist save winter on the mainland. Visit Silvermist to tell her about it!

Flit back to Dewdrop Vale and enter Silvermist's Grotto. Visit Sil and tell her all about Dessa's idea.

Step 4

I'm here to visit Silvermist!

Silvermist: "There you are, raindrop! Did Iridessa have any ideas?"
"She says I should invent Cold Beams? ME? Um ... what are Cold Beams? No, wait. I can do this! I know I can!"
"Okay, she's given us some moonbeams. Think, Silvermist, think ... YES! I can combine the moonbeams with ice crystals!"
"Will you fly to Blustery Brush and get ice crystals from the Minister of Winter?"

Fly to Evergreen Overlook. Earn 8,000 points playing Snowflake Sweep. Return to Silvermist's Grotto in Dewdrop Vale when you are done!

Story So Far

You're helping Silvermist save winter on the mainland. Fly to Blustery Brush and help the Minister of Winter!

Play Snowflake Sweep in Evergreen Overlook. Once you reach a score of 8,000 points (whether in one shot or cumulative), quit the game or play until you finish then return to Silvermist.

Step 5

I helped the Minister of Winter in Blustery Brush!

Silvermist: "Great, you got the ice crystals! Let me combine one with a moonbeam!"
"A smidge of pixie dust ought to do the job -- OH MY!"
"The ice crystal turned the moonbeam into solid ice! That's way too cold. Maybe it will work if the ice crystals are smaller. Little. Tiny!"
"Will you go see Trinket at Treetop Housewares and get one of her Tinker Pots for me? We'll use it to grind up the ice crystals!"

Fly to Treetop Housewares in Treetop Bend and get a Cloudy Blue Tinker Pot. Bring it to Silvermist's Grotto in Dewdrop Vale when you are done!

You're helping Silvermist save winter on the mainland. Fly to Treetop Housewares in Treetop Bend and get a Cloudy Blue Tinker Pot!

Another purchase to make! Fly back to Treetop Housewares, located in Treetop Bend, and enter the shop. Buy the Cloudy Blue Tinker Pot for 93 Spider Silk. The pot must be in Cloudy Blue in order for it to count toward this task. Return to Sil and give her this item.

Step 6

I got a Tinker Pot for Silvermist!

Silvermist: "It's perfect! But you know, if something needs to be ground up, Tinker Bell should really do it. She's the best at it."
"Will you take the ice crystals to her in Tinker's Nook?"

Fly to Tinker's Nook. You can get there from Cottonpuff Field!

Another Famous Fairy visit is your next task! Go to Cottonpuff Field and enter Tinker's Nook so you can speak to Tinker Bell.

Step 7

I'm here to see Tinker Bell!

Tinker Bell: "Pixie Name Here! Glad you came to visit! Oh, Sil needs ice crystals ground up? Flitterific! I love to do that!"
"Here, give me the ice crystals and that clay pot."
"Countdown ... Three, two, one and MASH!"
"Here you go. That was fun!"
"Now get this back to Silvermist!"

Fly to Silvermist's Grotto. You can get there from Dewdrop Vale!

Story So Far

You're helping Silvermist save winter on the mainland. Take the ground up ice crystals back to Silvermist!

Fly back to Dewdrop Vale and enter Silvermist's Grotto. Speak with Sil again and deliver the ground up ice crystals.

Step 8

I have tiny ice crystal pieces for Silvermist!

Silvermist: "Okay, let's see if it works this time."
"Combine a tiny ice crystal piece, a moonbeam, and just a smidge of pixie dust ..."
"It worked! It worked! Wow, it's a Cold Beam! I've never invented anything before, not like this!"
"Okay, um, we'll need to pack up lots of them for transport to the mainland. Crates. Yes, crates. And we'll pack them with Snowflakes to keep them cold."
"Will you gather Snowflakes for me while I make more Cold Beams?"

Gather 30 Snowflakes and bring them to Silvermist's Grotto in Dewdrop Vale.

You're helping Silvermist save winter on the mainland. Gather Snowflakes!

An ingredient collecting task! You are looking for Snowflakes if you don't have 30 already. Once you get the required 30 Snowflakes, give them to Silvermist.

Silvermist: "Shimmerific! Oh, this is so exciting, Pixie Name Here! Who would have guessed -- Cold Beams!"
"I just know they'll work! I couldn't have done it without you, raindrop. Here!"
