A special type of furniture, gifts allow VMK players to exchange holiday greetings. Spread some holiday cheer by trading the gift, leaving the gift in someone's guest room, or by using it as a quest kiosk reward. The Yeti teaches VMK players about this item here.

Giving Gifts

After purchasing a gift, you can double click the item in your inventory window. By doing so, you can either create a greeting to save or view an already saved message. Gifts appear separately in your inventory which makes it easier to tell them apart and determine whether a message has been saved on them yet:

Double clicking a gift that has not had a message saved opens up a window that allows a you to customize the gift. Here you can choose your "Greeting Layout" and add a message.

Save Your Greeting

Once you have chosen your desired background and greeting, click the "OK" button to save. Keep in mind that the greeting cannot be changed once it has been saved. VMK warns you about this and the following message box appears:

Save this Greeting?

Delivery

Now the only thing left to do is to deliver the gift. When giving multiple gifts, to tell your gifts apart, just double click on them from the inventory screen. For gifts with saved messages, the message will appear. Gifts that do not have a saved message will open the "Write Your Greeting" window.

The gift can be traded, left in a guest room, or rewarded via quest kiosk. For gifts with messages saved the name of the sender and the date the message was saved is included along with the personal message you created, so the recipient knows who the gift is from.

Be sure to note that gifts can be traded, placed into another room both in their "unsaved" and "saved" states. Make sure you double check to make sure you are giving the correct gift.

Receiving Gifts

If you receive a gift from someone, double click it to read the greeting inside.

A window will pop up with a message from the sender:
