Question

So, does any wiki editor actually play Club Penguin? I've heard many things about it, most of which I hope are not true now that Disney has purchased it. --Schmoofypage|talk 09:59, 2 August 2007 (CDT)

Well.. I play club penguin. --AstroLeandro 11:00 5 August 2007 (EST)

Club Penguin Side?

As a reply to Schmoofy, I do play Club Penguin. Although I don't play very much, I have a full membership. I got it for my birthday. What things have you heard about it?

My question is, will the Club Penguin side actually become as large as the VMK or Toontown side? I have asked this question in Club Penguin Fansite, in this thread. --Scootz 20:31, 3 August 2007 (CDT)

How big it becomes is up to the DOW editors. {: Since you're the only one playing right now, I think its up to you. From what I have seen, however, CP is much better about communicating with its players than VMK is, so some things (like the newsletter archive and the timeline) probably aren't as significant. But theres certainly nothing (except for a lack of disk space, eventually) to stop that side from growing. --Prisoner 05:34, 4 August 2007 (CDT)

Well, do you think it would be possible to create a seperate page for every item ever released, like VMK? I think that would be extremely difficult as nobody, as far as I know, has kept track of this. I suppose it's POSSIBLE to do, but not easy at all. --Scootz 06:55, 5 August 2007 (CDT)

Sounds like you have your work cut out for you, then. {: But again - its really what you think is important to make the game played better. Items are very important in VMK. Since you can't trade them in CP, they may be less important, while details about Rockhoppers adventures or other stories may be more important. --Prisoner 07:11, 5 August 2007 (CDT)

Important Updates

I believe that this should be a page, rather than a section on the main article. It looks rather odd the way it is...

Well, I created the Club Penguin Timeline and Important Updates this morning. Only problem is I don't know how it should be linked. --Scootz 09:00, 11 August 2007 (CDT) (Talk | contribs)

I put a link to it, but should the "Important Updates" section be taken out? --Scootz 12:05, 11 August 2007 (CDT) (Talk | contribs)

Yeah, I really think it should. It looks out of place, and it doesn't match the other main pages.--~~Garffy 04:50, 26 August 2007 (CDT)

Winter Sports Shop/Sport Shop

Schmoofy and I made Winter Sports Shop and Sport Shop at the same time... which should we keep? --Scootz 15:11, 13 August 2007 (CDT) (Talk | contribs)

When you enter the room, it says "Loading Sports Shop". We'll keep Sports Shop. :) --Schmoofypage|talk 15:14, 13 August 2007 (CDT)

Article merging?

Maybe, since most of the area articles are so short, we should merge areas that belong to certain groups. For example, The Lighthouse and The Beacon would be merged with The Beach article. What thinks you? --~~Garffy 10:04, 18 October 2007 (CDT)

Penguin Jobs

I was just looking around the Wiki and saw that "Offical Jobs" under "Penguin Jobs" is not a link or page. I'm a little confused, mind explaining? --Tricky 13:36, 15 September 2008 (PDT)

This is just a way to organize the main page. Since there are both "Official Jobs" and "Player Created Jobs", the distinction between the two needed to be made. Notice that the Tour Guide and Secret Agent pages are linked to beneath the "Official Jobs" heading, indicating that these are the Official Jobs. I played around a bit with the format to make this section similar to the Mini Game section where we have divided the category into Single and Multi player games.--UpInTheAir 14:03, 15 September 2008 (PDT)

OK, I get it now. Thanks! --Tricky 14:26, 15 September 2008 (PDT)

Linking to Sections

I am not sure if this is possible but is there any way to link to a certain section of the first page? Like Mini-Games bringing up the Mini-Games section by itself or at least bringing the page up to where it is showing it when the page loads.

This does not have to be answered now, just a bit of a random question.--Tricky 17:50, 22 September 2008 (PDT)

Yes, you can link to a section of a page using "#" in between the page and the section name. If you want to link to a section on the same page, you don't need to put the page name, just a # and the section name. So for the example of the Club Penguin Mini Games:

Use:

[[Club Penguin#Mini-Games|Mini Games]]

to get:

Mini Games

Hope that helps. Let me know if you need further clarification.

That is exactly what I was wondering about, thanks. :) --Tricky 12:46, 23 September 2008 (PDT)

Toys + New Languages

What are we going to do with the new toys and languages? From how it is stated in the recent Dev. blogs, the toys are going to unlock a special book and item for your penguin, old and new items. I am guessing that the book will get it's own section but what about the items? They are not really being released again, they are just becoming available to the people who will buy the toys. Also, there is a new page which shows most of the toys as well there is a page where you can download posters of them. I am almost confusing myself trying to understand all of these new updates. :) --Tricky 14:58, 14 October 2008 (PDT)
