Haylo's Puzzle (Quest)

Quick Quest Guide
This Quest has 9 steps.
What you will need: 10 Yellow Gems, as well as enough baked goods to renew your Pixie Dust when you enter the wilderness, 20 Spider Silk (to purchase one Acorn Timer), 15 Honeycombs, 10 Meadow Grass, 15 Rose Petals, and 25 Maple Leaves.
Quick Steps
- Go to Iridessa’s Glade and ask her if she has any quests. Pick Haylo's Puzzle.
- Enter The Silver Trees in Pumpkin Patch and gather 10 Yellow Gems, then bring them to Iridessa.
- Fly over to Treetop Housewares in Treetop Bend and purchase an Acorn Timer, return back to Iridessa once you have made your purchase.
- Earn a score of 30,000 points playing Sunbeam Bend, then return to Iridessa.
- Earn a score of 30,000 points playing Gem Juggle, then return to Iridessa.
- Gather 15 Honeycombs, and fly back to Iridessa.
- Gather 10 Meadow Grass, and fly back to Iridessa.
- Earn a score of 8,000 points playing Snowflake Sweep, then return to Iridessa.
- Gather 15 Rose Petals, and fly back to Iridessa.
- Gather 25 Maple Leaves, and fly back to Iridessa.
- Pick your reward and the quest is over.
In Depth Quest Guide
This is a full walk through for the quest, so if you're confused by any of the quick steps, hopefully these can help you out.
Stop by Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully and ask her if she has any quests. If you have finished the quest The Shadow Bird, the quest should pop up immediately and you'll be able to begin. Upon starting the quest, Dessa will greet you:
Iridessa: "Fly with you, sunshine! I've been reading the journals of my favorite pixie hero, Haylo!"
"Haylo was a light-talent who lived long, long ago. She loved to discover things - just like me! In fact, she discovered LIGHT SPECS!"
"She wrote that certain Yellow Gems from the Silver Trees Wilderness have tiny lights inside with mysterious powers. She named them light specs."
"But she never wrote down what light specs do. I want to investigate. I could use your help!"
Step 1
Accept this Quest?
Accept the quest and Iridessa is thrilled and gives you the first step.
Iridessa: "First we need Yellow Gems. Will you fly to the Silver Trees Wilderness and gather some?"
Fly to Pumpkin Patch, enter the Silver Trees Wilderness, and gather 10 Yellow Gems. Return to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully when you are done!

You're helping Iridessa study light specs. Gather Yellow Gems in the Silver Trees Wilderness!
An ingredient collecting task! Leave Iridessa's Glade and fly to The Silver Trees located in Pumpkin Patch. You are searching for Yellow Gems in the wilderness, if you don't have 10 already. Once you get the required 10 Yellow Gems, bring them to Dessa. Be sure to have enough baked goods made prior to entering the Wilderness!
Step 2
I have Yellow Gems for Iridessa!
Iridessa: "Excellent! Now, Haylo wrote that only about one in ten Yellow Gems contains a light spec. They're rare."
"While I open these gems and count how many light specs we have, you need to get a timer so we can time our experiments."
"Fly to Treetop Housewares and get an Acorn Timer!"
Fly to Treetop Housewares in Treetop Bend and get an Acorn Timer. Bring it to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully and give it to Iridessa when you are done!

You're helping Iridessa study light specs. Get an Acorn Timer from Treetop Housewares!
Let's go shopping! Head on over to Treetop Bend and enter Treetop Housewares. Purchase one Acorn Timer, which costs 20 Spider Silk. Once you have made your purchase, flap back to Iridessa and give it to her.
Step 3
I have an Acorn Timer for Iridessa!
Iridessa: "Thank you, sunshine. And guess what - we have FIVE light specs! That's more than enough for our experiments!"
"First I want to see what light specs do when we shine different colored lights on them. Let's get light beams by playing Sunbeam Bend!"
Fly to Sunflower Gully. Earn 30,000 points playing Sunbeam Bend. Return to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully when you are done!

It’s talent game time! Play Sunbeam Bend until you reach a score of at least 30,000 points (whether in one shot or cumulative), then return to Iridessa.

Iridessa: "Okay, let's see what happens when we shine these different colored sunbeams on the light specs."
"Ooo, they make the light specs SHAKE! It took only five seconds!"
"But I have no idea what that might mean."
"Let's get sparkly polished gems from Gem Juggle to see if the light specs react to them."
Fly to Chilly Falls. Earn 30,000 points playing Gem Juggle. Return to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully when you are done!

Iridessa: "Okay, let's see what happens!"
"Interesting..."
"When I placed the polished gems next to the light specs, the light specs TWINKLED. It only took three seconds!"
"But what does it mean? We need to try other objects. Let's see... gather Honeycombs!"
Gather 15 Honeycombs and bring them to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully.

Another ingredient collecting task! You are looking for Honeycombs if you don't have 15 already. Once you get the required 15 Honeycombs, give them to Iridessa.
Step 6
I have Honeycombs for Iridessa!
Iridessa: "Flashtastic! I'll just place one of these Honeycombs next to a light spec..."
"Hm. It's not doing anything. I wonder what would happen if I sprinkle pixie dust on it?"
"Bless my wings, Pixie Name Here, the light spec changed shape! It turned into a STAR!"
"And it's a GOLD star, the same color as the Honeycombs! This is amazing! We need to try another object! Hurry, go gather Meadow Grass!"
Gather 10 Meadow Grass and bring them to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully.

More ingredient collecting! This time, you are looking for Meadow Grass if you don't have 10 already. Once you get the required 10 Meadow Grass, give them to Iridessa.

I have Meadow Grass for Iridessa!
Iridessa: "Thanks. I'll be right back!"
"Okay, I'm putting the Meadow Grass next to another light spec and adding a smidge of pixie dust..."
"Success! The light spec changed shape just like the other one, but it turned into a GREEN star, the same green as the Meadow Grass!"
"Now let's try something else... um, a blue snowflake! Will you go get one by playing Snowflake Sweep?"
Fly to Evergreen Overlook. Earn 8,000 points by playing Snowflake Sweep. Return to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully when you are done!

Another talent game! This time, play Snowflake Sweep until you reach a score of at least 8,000 points (whether in one shot or cumulative), then return to Iridessa.

Iridessa: "Good, you got a blue snowflake. Let's see what it does to a light spec!"
"Wow..."
"The second I placed a blue snowflake next to a light spec and sprinkled pixie dust on it, it changed into a BLUE star!"
"I'm sensing a pattern here..."
"Let's try Rose Petals next. Go gather some!"
Gather 15 Rose Petals and bring them to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully.

Iridessa: "Great! Let's try these pink Rose Petals."
"It happened again!"
"Rose Petals and a smidge of pixie dust made a light spec turn into a PINK star!"
"If my hunch is correct, our last experiment will make the last light spec turn into an ORANGE star! Gather Maple Leaves."
Gather 25 Maple Leaves and bring them to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully

One more ingredient collecting task to go! For your last step, you are searching for Maple Leaves if you don't have 25 already. Once you get the required 25 Maple Leaves, bring them to Iridessa.

Iridessa: "Well, here goes, our final experiment. Hold onto your wingtips!"
"I was right!"
"Orange Maple Leaves and pixie dust made the last light spec turn into an ORANGE star! So we have five stars... hm, let me try something..."
"It's like a puzzle!"
"The stars fit together and make one BIG star! And the colors - gold, green, blue, pink and orange..."
"Don't you see? Gold for light-talent, green for tinkers, blue for water-talents, pink for garden-talents, and orange for animal-talents!"
"But we still need to figure out what these stars ARE. Will you come back to help me do that? In the meantime..."
"Come back to see me again right away, sunshine! Till then!"
You'll receive a Dusk Purple Light Specs Pennant as shown below. You also earn 105 Talent Points, as well as unlock the following quest upon completion: Light Tests.
