VMK: Shopping
Shopping, is one of the best ways to get items for your room, trading, getting rooms, clothing to wear, or just to have.
History
- On 2 October 2007, the Shop Button changed. It gained a separate tab for Furnishings, Pins, Clothing, Posters and Specials.
How to Shop
You can either shop by:
- Clicking the Shop Button,
, located on the Toolbar. NOTE: You cannot view shop Specials this way. - Going to a store via a map or an exit, and then clicking either the Shop Button, or by clicking on the cash register in the shop.
Before you can use the Shop Button, you must visit the shop's room. Once you go to that shop at least once, you can use the Shop Button in any room, and that shop will be there.
What You Can Buy
These are the different types of items you can buy in VMK.
Furnishings
Furnishings are probably one of the most common items people use in VMK. You can place these items in your room and use them at will. Some furnishings are Stackable, while others are not. Once the shop window is open, you'll see a whole bunch of tabs on the top of the window. Find the furnishing section, and click on it. You will see the stores, you have visited before appear. Click on the store you want to go to. You will see items appear in the right of the screen, these are the furnishings that are in that store.
Pins
Pins are items you can wear on your lanyard, and show to other people in the kingdom. Some of these pins are Magic Pins, while others are normal pins. There are many different pins. To buy pins, open your shop window and click the pins tab at the top of the shop window. Then click the store you want to buy pins from.
Posters
Posters are items that are limited to guest room walls. They are like furnishings but you cannot rotate them, stack them, or place them on the ground. To buy posters, click on the posters tab at the top of the shop window. Then click the store you want to buy pins from.
Clothing
Clothing, as you can imagine, is what you wear in VMK. There are many types of clothing out there in the kingdom. Some articles of clothing are buyable, others have left the shelves of VMK stores. To buy posters, click the clothing tab at the top of the shop window. Then choose the clothing you want to buy. This section is organized by Hats, Tops, Bottoms and Shoes instead of by store.
Rooms
Guest Rooms are rooms that players can buy, use to decorate, and open to the public. Furnishings and Posters can be placed anywhere accessible in a room. These rooms can be found on the Guest Room List on the map. To buy a room, choose the Guest Rooms tab at the top of the shop window. UIse the arrows to choose the room you want.
Specials
Specials are items that are either exclusive or sold for a limited time, usually a weekend or a month. To get the the specials, you must go to the shop you want to buy specials from. You can't use the shop button to view them, only by going to the shop first, then you can click the shop button, as long as you're still in the shop. Once your shop window is open, specials are in the far right tab, on the top of the window. You can also view specials via the store's cash register
If you are not in a shop and you go to the specials tab, you will get this message:
Please visit shops and find cash registers to add catalogue pages.
Each shop's catalogue gives you an exclusive selection of items for sale.
How To Buy Items
To buy items, find the item you want to buy. At the bottom, it will tell you how many credits the item costs. If you have enough credits, click Buy and then Yes to recieve the item and lose the credits.
Stores
There are a few different stores you can go to. Here is a list:
- Emporium (located in Main Street)
- "it's a small world" Imports (located in Fantasyland)
- Shrunken Ned's Shop (located in Adventureland)
- Golden Horseshoe Mercantile (located in Frontierland)
- Inner-Space Shop (located in Tomorrowland via the Inner-Space Ray Room, which is accessible via the Inner-Space Shrinking Machine. The ray room and the shop require the Inner-Space Suit Blue Magic Pin)
- Main Street Magic Shop (located in Main Street)
