templates: From Prisoner
It is all new to me too. I'm still experimenting.
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Template is the help text for templates, which is where I started. Templates are just regular pages with the prefix Template:, so the page Template:released is included where I put { {released} } (without the extra spaces).
You can put parameters in, but I haven't figured out the details yet.
And unfortunately, I'm out of time for the moment, so I can't play more. :)
Spin - I've created a cardRequired template and used it in the Series 1 section. Check it out and let me know if it makes life easier.

items by theme
Spin, I notice you're now adding items by category. I really like this idea, but I'm worring on two counts:
- I think that page is going to get big, and will need splitting
- I know you're doing cross-references. I wonder if it might make more sense to do each item as an individual page (just the table row), and include it on every page where it might make sense. So you just need to update the page once and the change will show upe everywhere its included.

Yes, I mean one page for each theme, so there would be a Haloween page (possibly with sections for each year), a Pirates theme page, and so on.
The important issue to consider is how to present the items. The way you're doing it (with each item linking to a central reference) makes sense. But it might also make sense that each item on every page is complete by itself. We can do that by making each item its own page with just the table row, and then using templates to include that item everywhere it is used.
