SO I have seen your messages about the templates and saw what you did on the timeline (nice!) But I have yet to figure out how you did it. Is there a list of templates for our pages? I am lost now lol. It seems that you can answer on my talk page? This is new to me --SpinMarty 13:34, 15 August 2006 (CDT)

It's like uploading a new image. You type { {template:whateveryouwannacallit} } and then click on the link, and create it. Simple as that.

I actually feel its more like creating a new page. What I usually (usually? I've done it four whole times. LOL!) is the following:

  • Edit some page where I will test the template (usually the page I will eventually use it on, so I can compare it to how it used to look).
  • Change the text I'm replacing with {{whatever}} (It defaults to the Template namespace, so you don't need to put that in.)
  • Click on Show preview
  • The text will be replaced with a link. Click on the link, and I'm taken to the edit page for Template:Whatever
  • Edit my template and save it.
  • Go back to the page I'm testing it on and click Show preview again, and see how the template now looks.
