The Watchers of the Northern Lights (Quest)

Quick Quest Guide
This Quest has 9 steps.What you will need:
Rose Petal Sash: 1 Bottle of brown dye. You may choose one of any of the following -- Bark Brown Dye (cost is 13 Daisy Petals) from Daisy's Dyes located in Cherryblossom Heights; Chocolate Brown Dye (cost is 6 Raspberries) from Prism's Paints located in Pumpkin Patch; or Soil Brown Dye (cost is 16 Twigs) from Sunny's Shades located in Neverfruit Grove. You will also need: 1 Ivy, 4 Rose Petals and 11 Spider Silk.
Seedpod Fan: 1 Bottle of pink dye. You may choose one of any of the following -- Daisy Pink Dye (cost is 39 Daisy Petals) from Daisy's Dyes located in Cherryblossom Heights; Raspberry Pink Dye (cost is 26 Raspberries) from Prism's Paints located in Pumpkin Patch; or Camellia Pink Dye (cost is 49 Honeycombs) from Sunny's Shades located in Neverfruit Grove. You will also need: 15 Oak Leaves, 15 Ivy and 5 Sunflower Seeds.
Other Items and Ingredients: 36 Acorns (to buy one pair of Tundra Blue Bear Slippers), 20 Sunflower Seeds, 20 Dandelion Fluff and 10 Truffles.
Quick Steps
- Go to Fawn's Hideout and ask if she has any quests. Pick The Watchers of the Northern Lights.
- Go to Mendy's Tailoring Nook in Maple Tree Hill make a Rose Petal Sash in any shade of brown through Personal Tailoring, and return to Fawn.
- Go to Copper's Tinkering Nook in Maple Tree Hill make a Seedpod Fan in any shade of pink through Personal Tinkering, and return to Fawn.
- Buy a pair of Tundra Blue Bear Slippers and give them to Fawn.
- Gather 20 Sunflower Seeds and give them to Fawn.
- Gather 20 Dandelion Fluff and give them to Fawn.
- Gather 10 Truffles and give them to Fawn.
- Earn a score of 15,000 points on Snowy Lullaby and return to Fawn.
- Fly to Rosetta's Garden in Cherryblossom Heights and speak to Rosetta.
- Return to Fawn.
- Pick your reward and the quest is over.
In Depth Quest Guide
This is a full walk through for the quest, so if you're confused by any of the quick steps, hopefully these can help you out.
Head over to Fawn's Hideout in Maple Tree Hill and ask her if she has any quests. If you have finished the quest The Shape of Northern Lights, the quest should appear in the list of quests you may do and you'll be able to begin immediately. Upon starting the quest, Fawn will greet you:
Fawn: "THERE you are, Fairyname here! I heard you’ve been helpin’ everybody with their Northern Lights jobs."
"Can you help me, too? Please please with pixie dust on top?"
Step 1
Accept this Quest?Once you agree, Fawn is thrilled and gives you the first step.
Fawn: "Critterific! Now, we animal-talents train critters to go to the mainland an’ watch over the Northern Lights."
"Someone’s got to be there to tell us if the Northern Lights suddenly go out or somethin’. Our critter friends help us do that!"
"This round o’ critters are all trained an’ ready to go, but they still need some supplies. Let’s see..."
"First is Wesley the Woodpecker -- he gets cold easy. Can you make him a Rose Petal Sash at Mendy’s Tailoring Nook? Dye it Soil Brown to match his neck feathers."
Fly to Mendy's Tailoring Nook in Maple Tree Hill. Use Personal Tailoring to make a Rose Petal Sash with brown dye. Fly to Fawn's Hideout in Maple Tree Hill and give it to Fawn when you are done!

Story So Far
You’re helping Fawn with the Northern Lights. Fly to Mendy’s Tailoring Nook and Personal Tailor a Soil Brown Rose Petal Sash! If you need Soil Brown Dye, visit Sunny’s Shades in Neverfruit Grove first!
The first thing you need to do for this step of the quest is to see if you own a bottle of brown dye. If not, purchase one from one of the dye shops (see What you will need section above for details). Even though Soil Brown is suggested, it does not matter which shade of brown you choose as long as it IS a brown. Then, flap over to Mendy's Tailoring Nook located in Maple Tree Hill. Once there, pick Personal Tailoring and choose Rose Petal Sash from the list. The pattern will not be automatically open for Personal Tailoring -- you must earn it. To open the pattern, you must first complete the Grassweave Belt Pattern, which will unlock the Rose Petal Sash Pattern. Complete the Rose Petal Sash pattern using Community Tailoring and it will then be available to you to Personal Tailor. When you have tailored the sash, flit back to Fawn and speak to her again.
Step 2
I made a sash for Wesley the Woodpecker!Fawn: "Thanks, chickadee! Wesley is gonna love this!"
"Next we have the Highleaps. They’re a bunny family. They want a fan to keep the air fresh in their hollow log home on the mainland."
"Could you visit Copper’s Tinkering Nook an’ make them a Seedpod Fan? Mrs. Highleap likes pink, so make it Daisy Pink."
"If you need Daisy Pink dye, visit Daisy’s Dyes in Cherryblossom Heights first!"
Fly to Copper's Tinkering Nook in Maple Tree Hill. Use Personal Tinkering to make a Seedpod Fan with pink dye. Fly to Fawn's Hideout in Maple Tree Hill and give it to Fawn when you are done!

You’re helping Fawn with the Northern Lights. Personal Tinker a Daisy Pink Seedpod Fan at Copper’s Tinkering Nook! If you need Daisy Pink Dye, visit Daisy’s Dyes in Cherryblossom Heights first!

Even though Daisy Pink is suggested, it does not matter which shade of pink you choose as long as it IS a pink. Then, flap over to Copper's Tinkering Nook located in Maple Tree Hill. Once there, pick Personal Tinkering and choose Seedpod Fan from the list. The blueprint will not be automatically open for Personal Tinkering -- you must earn it. To earn the blueprint, you must first complete it using Community Tinkering and it will then be available to you to Personal Tinker. When you have tinkered the fan, fly back to Fawn and give it to her.
Step 3
I made a Seedpod Fan for the Highleap family!Fawn: "Great! Now for Bruno. He’s a bear cub from Winter Woods. He needs a pair of slippers for his paws. Bear Slippers, of course, hee hee!"
"Will you get a pair of blue Bear Slippers from Gale’s Outfitters in Snowcap Glade? Bruno likes blue."
Fly to Gale's Outfitters in Snowcap Glade and get a pair of Tundra Blue Bear Slippers. Bring it to Fawn's Hideout in Maple Tree Hill when you are done!

Story So Far
You’re helping Fawn with the animals who will be watching the Northern Lights. Get a pair of Tundra Blue Bear Slippers at Gale’s Outfitters!
Head up to Snowcap Glade and enter Gale's Outfitters. Purchase a pair of Tundra Blue Bear Slippers. You must buy the Tundra Blue pair in order for it to count! Return to Fawn after you have made your purchase.
Step 4
I have blue Bear Slippers for Bruno the bear cub!Fawn: "Bruno is gonna look so adorable in those slippers! Now let’s start makin’ what I call “snack packs” for our mainland volunteer critters!"
"Woodpeckers love Sunflower Seeds, so can you gather as many as you can? I’ll make pouches for them while you’re out."
Gather 20 Sunflower Seeds and bring them to Fawn's Hideout in Maple Tree Hill.

You’re helping Fawn with the Northern Lights. Gather Sunflower Seeds!
An ingredient collecting task! You need to gather up some Sunflower Seeds, if you don’t have 20 already. Once you get the required 20 Sunflower Seeds, return to Fawn and give them to her.
Step 5
I have Sunflower Seeds for Fawn!Fawn: "Critterific! I’ll put ‘em in this new pouch for Wesley. I also want to make him fluffy super-warm nest liners so he stays warm at night."
"For that I need Dandelion Fluff. Can you go find some?"
Gather 20 Dandelion Fluff and bring them to Fawn's Hideout in Maple Tree Hill.

You’re helping Fawn with animals who will be watching the Northern Lights. Gather Dandelion Fluff!
Another ingredient collecting task! This time you are searching for Dandelion Fluff, if you don’t have 20 already. Once you get the required 20 Dandelion Fluff, return to Fawn and give them to her.
Step 6
I have Dandelion Fluff for Fawn!Fawn: "Wow, that’s a lot of fluff! Good job, Fairyname here! Now for your next task."
"EVERYBODY loves Truffles -- fly into the Wilderness an’ find Truffles for the critters!"
Gather 10 Truffles in the Wilderness and bring them to Fawn's Hideout in Maple Tree Hill.

Story So Far
You’re helping Fawn with the Northern Lights. Fly into the Wilderness and find Truffles!
This is also an ingredient collecting task! You are looking for Truffles, if you don’t have 10 already. To find Truffles, you must adventure in the Wilderness. Make sure to bring enough cookies to renew your pixie dust if you have to enter the Wilderness. Once you get the required 10 Truffles, return to Fawn and give them to her.
Step 7
I found Truffles for Fawn!Fawn: "They look SO yummy!"
"Well, it’s time for us to flap over to Drowsy Den. The Highleap kids need a nap before their big trip. Come on!"
Fly to Drowsy Den in Snowcap Glade. Earn 15,000 playing Snowy Lullaby. Return to Fawn's Hideout in Maple Tree Hill when you are done!

Story So Far
You’re helping Fawn with the Northern Lights. Fly to Drowsy Den and help Fawn sing baby critters to sleep!
It’s talent game time! Play Snowy Lullaby until you reach the score of 15,000 points (whether in one shot or cumulative), then return to Fawn.
Step 8
I played lullabies with Fawn!Fawn: "Great job, chickadee -- oh, Page the messenger-talent just flew up!"
"Really? Great news! Thanks, Page!"
"Bruno’s little sister Becka is going with him to the mainland! We should do something special for her."
"I heard about that new plant Rosetta found -- the one that can grow in the air. Let’s ask Rosetta to make Becka a necklace out of one of its flowers!"
"Hurry over to Rosetta’s an’ ask her if she can do it!"
Fly to Rosetta's Garden! You can get there from Cherryblossom Heights.

You’re helping Fawn with the Northern Lights. Go ask Rosetta if she’ll make a necklace for Becka the bear cub!
Flit up to Cherryblossom Heights and visit Rosetta in her Garden.
Step 9
I’m here to see Rosetta!Rosetta: "Fairyname here! I hear you’re helpin’ Fawn with her Northern Lights job now. You’re just flutterin’ with energy, aren’t you?"
"You want a Tillandsia flower necklace for one of the critters watchin’ over the Northern Lights? Well, of course!"
"This blossom is just right. A little meadow grass, and... lovely!"
"Here you go, sugar! I hope it makes her happy!"
Fly to Fawn's Hideout! You can get there from Maple Tree Hill.
Story So Far
You’re helping Fawn with the Northern Lights. Fly back to Fawn’s Hideout and give her the necklace Rosetta made!
Fly back to speak to Fawn one last time and finish the quest!

You'll receive a Tillandsia Top Tundra Blue as shown below. You also unlock the following quest upon completion: The Carriers of Northern Lights.
