Just wanted some imput on this. Many of the inventory pictures in game now show the item smaller than they used to. For example, the BB chairs, as can be seen on this page by comparing the yellow chair to the others. I know that the other BB chairs have been shrunk and the BTMRR train teleporter as well. I'm sure there are more items that fall into this category. Looking for opinions about what should be done. Should we add the "new" images, and if we do should we keep the old ones as history and put them somewhere? Some things to think about!

I meant to look into this. Personal opinion - upload the new picture, being careful to use the same name as the old one. So the new version replaces the old, and there is a history, in good wiki-fashion. {: --Prisoner 14:00, 8 June 2007 (CDT)

I, too, have been thinking about this for a while. I agree with the new photos being used. The history will be that we don't delete the old versions as we do sometimes. Although, there is always the thought that we could do a page with the comparisons with a link in the "Visual History" section. --SpinMarty 14:07, 8 June 2007 (CDT)

Okay...bringing this discussion back up. So now we have the smaller images and the rotated images (see inventory pic for 50th Celebration Director's Chair Yellow or any of the other colors and then check your VMK inventory...) to deal with. I'm not sure re-uploading keeps the previous pictures for historical purposes...it doesn't seem to stay with deletion so I'd be leary about it staying for reuploads as well. Honestly the best thing I can think of is to take the old pictures and upload them with a different name denoting them as "old" or "former" or whatever we decide on and THEN re-uploading the new pic in the correct name. I think perhaps a page on Inventory Pic evolution linking to visual history, or at least a note in the visual history would be appropriate.

When you re-upload a pic of an image, it keeps the old picture as well. If you try to delete the other pic, I think it deletes the entire page, because I asked Batelth to delete a pic of a bad image of an item I uploaded, and I already re-uploaded it, and the page was gone. We could move some of the images to old, but putting former in doesn't quite make sense, due to it not being the real name of the item.

I like the idea Spin said, to make a page of the difference in sizes to show the history, since we talk about the history a lot.--Haveamagicalday

I say upload old versions again as "itemname0.jpg" then upload the new versions as the original name, "itemname.jpg". That way all the pics remain the same on the pages without having to re-do each items page. I still want to do a link on the "Various Stages" page to include the original and new photo comparisons. --SpinMarty 13:35, 30 December 2007 (CST)

Has anyone ever tried this with a sandbox picture, to see how it would work? :) --Prisoner 13:37, 30 December 2007 (CST)
