Main Page

To all editors who are interested in the helping of POTCO (Wiki). I have put a general idea of the main things down on the page, if you want to add to it, you may. I just put more things together. I will be working more on POTCO (Wiki) for a while than VMK, since POTCO (Wiki) just officially opened last night, it needs more work. Feel free to fill it up though if you can! :) --CL_Haveamagicalday

Sections

I think that the Character Menu should be changed to Sea Chest, because in the tutorial, they say you put all valuable stuff inside it. So should we have it called Sea Chest, then have subsections of that like game options, friends, skills, ships, etc?

Reminder

Reminder: POTCO will not be opening for phase 2 of the beta test until September. No changes should be made to this section of the wiki until then, being you cannot enter the game. --Schmoofypage|talk 14:15, 17 August 2007 (CDT)

TODO: Update the entire menu to the recent game details.

Sections And Skills

I agree with the fact that the Character Menu should be changed to Sea Chest since things like Options and Notoriety don't really fit in there. I put Notoriety, Health, and Voodoo there only because it was the only place that seemed reasonable.

I also think that skills should have its own private section because we could make the pistol skill, the cutlass skill, the cannon skill, and the sailing skill all be made as sub-sections.

And one last thought, why was lookout merged with Player Vs Player? They're two completely different things. -- BadgerDog

I agree with the skills idea. In Player Vs Player, lookout is one of the choices, I think. --CL_Haveamagicalday

Player Vs Player is one of the choices, but that doesn't mean that it is lookout. Parlor Games and Pirate Vs Pirate are more options than lookout itself. Lookout is just a way to find other players for the specified activity. -- BadgerDog

I can see your point, but it's inside the look out button. How about we put a bullet and call it Lookout? --CL_Haveamagicalday

Seems reasonable. Should we add a skills section while we're at it? -- BadgerDog

Well, I was thinking about making a weapons section soon. Under that, we could have skills for the weapon like:

Weapons

  • Cutlass
    • Skills

or something like that. --CL_Haveamagicalday

Do you mean have a separate skill section for each weapon? I don't know, having one for each weapon might make the pages short. If it was just one single page that included all the skills for each weapon, it would be bigger and have lots more information. -- BadgerDog

But, then, it would be mixing them. I now think it should be with the weapon itself, we can easily fit it into the page itself. Like the Pistol, we can put all information on the pistol on that page, so it's more organized --CL_Haveamagicalday

So what you think we should do is the following:

  • Make a new section called Sea Chest, everything that is in the Sea Chest will be put there and things such as Voodoo will stay in Character Menu.
  • Make a Skill section that corresponds to the particular weapon.
  • Make a Lookout section that has Pirate Vs. Pirate and Parlor Games under it.

If everyone agrees with that, I'd be happy to edit the front page to include those suggestions. -- BadgerDog

I mean for skills, put it in the weapon's page itself. --CL_Haveamagicalday

Oh, well in that case, do you still agree with all those possible changes to the front page? -- BadgerDog

Yes, if they don't work out, we can always revert them back :), but it looks good! --CL_Haveamagicalday

Store Inventories

I think that instead of the words with the prices near them, we should have a picture of the item with the cost, like we see it in the store we're in.

The pictures will be small though. I'm not sure if you play or not, but when you buy an item, the picture is a little square, and you can't get a good pic of yourself with the weapon/item, because you can't rotate yourself, unless your not holding onto anything. --CL_Haveamagicalday

You could probably take a picture of somebody else's. Just have two people on two different computers and take pictures of the weapon the other person is holding (or something like that. --larkija

Still, it will would difficult to get the camera angle to position over the weapon. -- BadgerDog

It's not really needed atm, we are trying to get the most important things done. Maybe once that's done we can get those pics :) --CL_Haveamagicladay

New Format

I don't think the page looks better now, with the changes, the pic is too big, any other opinions? --Haveamagicalday (Talk | Contributions) 18:09, 22 January 2008 (CST)
