Since this is the first time I did the newsletter, I'm not sure if I have the formatting right. If any editor would like to fix this, thanks. :) --Scootz 08:52, 10 November 2007 (CST) (Talk | contribs

Way back when we first started adding the newsletter here sections used to be updated consistently on Mondays. For this reason all of our Newsletter dates reflect Mondays and the changes that were made. Now with inconsistent updating of many of the sections with changes occuring randomly during the week, having the newsletter remain with Mondays date allows for us to consistently represent a weeks worth of newsletter without constantly adding new dates. When I update the newsletter I mentally divde my week and make a note of the changes that have occured. It's usually easy to tell the "Top Players" of the week even if they are not announced on Monday and so I include these under the appropriate week. Other sections I take into consideration previous changes and which "week" the changes best represent. In order to keep the newsletter body consistent from week to week, I usually copy over the previous weeks newsletter and update with any changes. In some cases where clarification is necessary, I have sometimes added a "note" of when the actual section was updated (ie Added 11 November 2007 or the likes). Thank you for taking the time to add the information from the current newsletter. Often I cannot add the information as promptly as I would like to and the help is always appreciated. Just wanted to give you a few things to keep in mind if you decide to continue helping keep this section updated.

If you have questions regarding formatitting, the best thing to do is to look at the newsletters that have come before. Also, in sections such as the Scam Alert or Safety Corner, information and images are often repeated so looking through past newsletters can be helpful. Also for sections that are no longer pertinent like past months "theme section" such as Nemo 101, a link to a newsletter from that month is usually sufficient. I know at one time talk of making a Newsletter Skeleton was brought up, however the problem with this is the newsletter is both dynamic and predictable. For this reason I find it easiest to use the previous week's newsletter as a template. --UpInTheAir 02:44, 11 November 2007 (CST)
