Tailoring is a way for you to craft clothes for the community, or even craft your own clothes using the objects you can find around Pixie Hollow. To craft clothes, you simply need to visit either Bobbin's Tailoring Nook or Mendy's Tailoring Nook in the meadows.

Tailoring Types

Practice Tailoring allows you to practice your skills in tailoring. All materials needed to craft these items are courtesy of the crafting shop, so there is no need to look for them.

Personal Tailoring allows you to craft clothes for yourself.

Tailoring Clothes

To begin tailoring a piece of clothing, you need to select a pattern to use. There are many types of patterns including tops, skirts, trousers, shoes, belts, etc . Initially, you will only have 2 of these patterns per crafting nook but as you gain Talent Levels new ones will be unlocked.

Each pattern on the Patterns screen shows you the pattern number (up to 235), an image of the pattern, the name of the clothing, as well as the Talent Level required to make the item. The Details button will show you more information about the pattern upon clicking it.

Aside from the information that you get from the pattern page, this will show you the number of the pattern, the ingredients you need, the number of times you have crafted this item, your average quality score on the pattern, and the steps involved to make it. To return to the list of patterns, simply slick the "X" in top right hand corner.

When you've decided which pattern you want, all you need to do is click on it then click the select button. At that time you will be sent to the "Choose A Color" screen, where you can choose between several different colors for your clothing. When you select one, the pattern image at the top changes to that color to show you what the pattern will look like. When you have found the color you like, click the Next button to begin tailoring.

Steps

There are at least four individual steps to tailoring per item although there are eight different step types, each being a small mini-game that you must complete to continue. In the end, you will be scored with a quality rating judged by certain aspects of each mini-game.

Roly-Poly Painting

Using your mouse, move the acorn cap left and right to bounce to roly-poly bug across the cloth. The pins holding the cloth down act as bumpers and will make the roly-poly bug roll in different directions, splattering a bit of dye on the cloth. Be careful not to drop the roly-poly bug though, if you do then some of your dye will be taken away! The more you cover the cloth with dye before running out, the higher your quality score will be at the end.

You have completed this step when you completely dye the cloth, or you run out of dye.

Caterpillar Cutting

Using your mouse, move the caterpillar around the pattern, guiding the caterpillar over the dots. At some point there will be a bar across the pattern, click your mouse to get your caterpillar to jump over the bar. Keeping on the dotted line and finishing with time left will give you a higher quality rating at the end.

You have completed this step when you have followed the dotted line to the finish line marked at the end of the pattern.

Pattern Placing

To place the pieces of material in the correct spots, simply left click them and drag them to where you believe they belong. When you have placed the pattern in the correct spot, it will lock into place. If you need a hint, click the hint button below the pattern template and a piece will light up along with the place that it goes! Finish with time left to receive a time bonus and gain a higher accuracy rating.

You have completed this step when all the pattern pieces have been placed in the right position.

Spider Stitching

Help the spider stitch the pieces of material together by left clicking the screen when she is over the leaves. When the spider swings toward a leaf, a target will appear around it. Be careful not to miss this target, you only get one chance for each stitch! By clicking the mouse button when the spider is closer to the center of the target, you increase your quality rating.

You have completed this step when you have finished the last stitch in the pattern.

Beading

Add the correct shape/colored beads in the right order to each stitch. After so many seconds a new stitch will appear with a different pattern. New stitches will appear until the required amount of stitches have been completed. By getting as many correct beads on the minimum amount of stitches, you increase your quality rating.

You have completed this step when you have finished adding the last bead.

Button Search

Left click and drag the correct colored button to the pink pouch. The wrong color will not go into the pouch but will bounce back into the tray. You can move the buttons around the tray so you can find the button you are looking for. Finish with time left to receive a time bonus and gain a higher accuracy rating.

You have completed this step when you have finished adding the last button to the pouch.

Knitting

Click on the correct colored yarn and then click the individual square until you need to change color, then click on the next correct colored yarn before going back to the individual square. Finish with time left to receive a time bonus and gain a higher accuracy rating.

You have completed this step when you have finished clicking the last square.

Shearing

Click on the correct colored yarn and then click the individual square until you need to change color, then click on the next correct colored yarn before going back to the individual square. Finish with time left to receive a time bonus and gain a higher accuracy rating.

You have completed this step when you have finished collecting all the colors.

Final Results

After completing the pattern you selected, you will be shown your results for that pattern. This screen will show your quality score, which is calculated by taking your scores from each mini game and putting them into a percentage, and the Talent Points you earned. You can see more info about your results in Personal Baking by clicking on the Details button at the bottom.

The game details page gives you more information about your overall quality score. This page shows you the quality score you received from each step in the pattern, the number of times you have created the pattern, your average quality score, and the best quality score you have had on the pattern. When you are done viewing this info, you can click "Summary" to return to the Congratulations screen or "Done" to return to the Patterns screen.

Tailoring Types

Originally, Practice Tailoring was called Community Tailoring.

Tailoring Clothes

To begin tailoring a piece of clothing, you need to select a pattern to use. There are several patterns to unlock overall. To begin, you will only have 2 of these patterns, but as you complete previous patterns new ones will be unlocked.

Each pattern on the Patterns screen shows you the pattern number (up to 51), an image of the pattern, the name of the clothing, and a progress bar telling you how far you have progressed with this pattern. Caterpillar Cutting

Caterpillar Cutting is the second step in tailoring. Using your mouse, move the cake around the pattern, guiding the caterpillar over the dots. Along the pattern there will be stars that take place of the dots, eat these to gain a small time bonus! Keeping on the dotted line and finishing with time left will give you a higher quality rating at the end.

Spider Stitching

Spider stitching is the fourth and final step in tailoring. Help the spider stitch the pieces of material together by left clicking the screen when she is over the leaves. When the spider swings toward a leaf, a target will appear around it. Be careful not to miss this target, you only get one chance for each stitch! By clicking the mouse button when the spider is closer to the center of the target, you increase your quality rating.

History: On 19 December 2008 this game was updated so that stitches are sewn when the mouse button is released. Prior to this date stitches were sewn when the mouse was clicked. On 27 March 2009, the Spider Stitching reverted back to a click gameplay system instead of release. On 3 December 2009, they changed the way the targets appeared for Spider Stitching. The first target no longer appears automatically; however, once the first stitch is made, all targets appear. Prior to this, each target appeared one at a time as the spider traveled down the material. And on 16 December 2009, the game was updated so that the first target appears automatically again.

You have completed this step when you have finished the last stitch in the pattern.

Final Results

After completing the pattern you selected, you will be shown your results for that pattern. This screen will show your quality score, which is calculated by taking your scores from each mini game and putting them into a percentage, and an updated progress bar. To see more info about your results, you can click the Details button at the bottom.

Tailoring Bonus

The Tailoring Bonus was introduced on 27 March 2009. With the removal of tailoring points, the Tailoring Bonus was no longer in effect.

If you score a quality score of 85 - 97 your quality score will be doubled.

If you score a quality score of 98 - 100 your quality score will be tripled.
