Everybody Was Sea-in' Green
Did you get a chance to sail the high green seas? There was a whole lot of green going on in the Caribbean on March 17. Some Pirates rocked a green 'do, while others got inked up with some new lucky tattoos! Finding Captain Teague - A Father's Day Event
You've heard of the man reputed to be Captain Jack Sparrow's father? We're talking, of course, about Captain Teague. This notorious pirate has gone missing, and in honor of Father's Day we need your help to find him. Finding Captain Jack's father won't be easy … but it may make you a legend!
This quest is given out by Jack Sparrow at the Rowdy Rooster in Port Royal. This quest is only available during Father's Day weekend. Released: 13 June 2008

The Quest for Captain Teague
Did you manage to find Captain Jack Sparrow's father? Aye, many a pirate set off on this adventure - the Quest was available to all players from June 13 to June 16. What seemed to be a simple errand turned into a resque mission when players discovered Captain Teague had been captured by the British Royal Navy!
Congratulations to all the players who helped recover Captain Jack Sparrow's father, Captain Edward Teague. Look for more adventures in the future including this salty seadog.

For the last two weekends, you've had the chance to meet our Game Masters in the various town taverns. See screenshots from the event.
Missed the chance to meet the GMs? You never know when a GM might show up, so be on the lookout around the docks of Port Royal and the beaches of Tortuga - both are favorite spots for GMs.
GMs or Game Masters work with the Pirates Online Crew - these Pirates help host events and answer Pirates questions. Plus, these in-the-know seadogs often have information about events and other happenings in the future.

New Year's Celebration
Start the New Year with a Bang
Speaking of festivities, a shipment of fireworks from the Far East will help Pirates celebrate the New Year! Meet your mates on the beaches of Tortuga, Port Royal or Padres Del Fuego - or ring in the New Year by inviting friends onboard your Guild's boat. Enjoy the New Years fireworks celebration from many different vantage points, so be sure to join us!
The show starts at nightfall, December 31 and runs until January 2 - also be sure to use the noisemaker emote by typing /noise into chat. Let's ring in another year of pillage and plundering!
Port Royal Destroyed
New Town Rises from the Ashes - Tours Daily
As you may have read, something's going on in the Caribbean - specifically Port Royal. In the coming days, you'll see the town turned to ruins by a cataclysmic event - what will rise from the rumble will be a completely NEW Port Royal.
As one of the first game improvements for 2009, we're introducing a NEW Port Royal and our GMs have volunteered to show us around. Click here for a Tour Schedule. The new layout will take some getting used to, but once you get used to it, we think you'll agree - the new Port Royal looks better and feels more like a real town. Feats of Strength Contest Sign Up
Due to the overwhelming amount of submissions we've received, we're now closing the sign-up. Thanks for signing up!
Be sure to check back Friday, January 16 for a complete schedule. Please arrive at your designated ocean (server) location early! Late contestants or no-shows will not be able to participate.
If you didn't get a chance to sign up for this event, don't worry, we'll be doing events like this again very soon. This event takes place January 17, 18, and 19 from 11 AM - 2 PM (Pacific Time) on Tortuga. All Pirates are invited to compete - or just cheer on a mate. To enter the contest - which includes a footrace, swim, and enemy battle - submit your in-game Pirate name, current level, and the day you prefer to compete (and a secondary choice) - we'll publish a schedule for Pirates participating on Friday, January 16.
Note: We will make every effort to accommodate your requested competition day, however due to the turnout expected for this event, participants are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Feats of Strength Event Overview
All contestants should read these rules and familiarize yourself with the event challenges before the event.
The Feats of Strength Contest consists of three separate challenges. Pirates must complete all three challenges as fast as they can, in order, following the course routes. Pirates that finish the race without completing all task are disqualified.
Refer to the schedule posted here for your competition time. Please arrive at your designated ocean (server) early! Late contestants or no-shows will not be able to participate.
Please Note: All Pirates are welcome to watch the event from the beach or docks of Tortuga, but be respectful of your fellow Pirates competing in the Feats of Strength Contest. Please don't block the course route, use weapons during the contests or interfere with the contestants.
Challenge 1: 3 Laps around Town
The race begins with 3 laps, as Pirates run counter-clockwise around the town of Tortuga.
Challenge 2: Swim the Beach
After the footrace, Pirates swim the length of the beach. Pirates will go straight from the footrace to the swimming challenge without stopping. Please note the start of the swimming challenge - Pirates must swim around the Shipwright.
Challenge 3: Defeat 1 Crocodile
Pirates will swim to the Jail, then defeat 1 crocodile. After defeating the crocodile, the first player to race back to the GM in front of the Jail wins. There are prizes for first, second and third, so don't stop until you finish the race!

Then join Captain Walter and the Marceline Guild on the docks of Port Royal for a Crewing Party this Friday, January 23 between 7 - 9 PM Pacific Time in the Barano Ocean. We'll teach you more about crewing and you may even get the opportunity to crew with a GM!
By crewing with other pirates, you not only make great friends but have a chance to experience adventure together (not to mention, get better experience awards like Crew Bonuses).

Port Royal: New and Improved - Tours Now Available
The new Port Royal is new and improved, and some Pirates may have trouble finding their way around. That's why our GMs will be offering tours of the new town. Join us Friday, Saturday and Sunday, February 6, 7 and 8 from 11AM - 2PM Pacific Time for Port Royal Tours. You'll get a chance to see the town through the eyes of a Pirates Online GM, hear stories about the people and places, plus get some insight on rumors about the EITC's planned attack on the Pirates of the Caribbean.

Mardi Gras
Join us this weekend, and the days leading up to Fat Tuesday (Feb. 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 from 12PM - 3PM PST) for Mardi Gras!
Our GMs will be in game to celebrate Mardi Gras and get the carnival going! A street parade starts in the center of Tortuga and then proceeds to the beach for a Pirate's Mardi Gras party! Enjoy dancing, roast pork and other surprises! It?s party time! GMs will be roaming the "C" named Oceans (servers). We'll continue roaming the Oceans in alphabetical order after all the bonfires are started on the "C" named Oceans. Plus there may be surprise GM appearances in "A" & "B" titled Oceans. Founder's are encouraged to join us to help lead the parade!
NOTE: This is a ROLE-PLAYING event, GMs will be in character to celebrate Mardi Gras and not answering questions about game updates. Please do not use weapons during this event unless instructed to do so.

Spring Blooms, Seas Turn Green
We welcome spring to the Caribbean and with it a mysterious green algae that blooms in the waters surrounding the islands. Legend has it that algae bloom is an omen of things to come - that green seas attract large sea creatures, like whales and giant squids.
Some though say it was the Irish Pirate Shamus O' Malley - not algae - that turned the sea green. Shamus it seemed couldn't bear to see the green inks and dyes intended for the Caribbean Saint Patrick's celebration shipped off to Europe. So he and other pirates raided EITC ships and dumped their cargos of ink and dyes into the ocean (saving enough for the shopkeepers, of course). What do you think happened?

Where in the Caribbean is Shamus O' Malley?
Looking for Shamus O' Malley? Remember, Shamus doesn't like large crowds, look for him off the beaten path or in shops, or lonely beaches. When you do find Shamus, greet him and then whisper the secret phrase. Have a pen and paper handy, Shamus will whisper you a code that can be redeemed in-game for gold! Be quick - Shamus looks to spread his fortune with many Pirates (only on St. Patrick's Day) and will be off before you know it!

Green Seas - Irish Items
Thanks to Pirates like Shamus O' Malley and Captain Walter of the Marceline guild, we're happy to report the EITC won't be shipping any green dyes or inks to Europe this spring. In fact, the Caribbean's resources are staying in the islands as several shipments of EITC cargo were recently raided and barrels of dye and ink were "commandeered" for the Caribbean shop keepers.

The Black Guard Cometh
It's been rumored the EITC Black Guard are interrogating Pirates for information about the whereabouts of Captain Walter and the Marceline Guild. Be warned Pirates, these devils are also offering rewards for the Marceline Guild's capture - don't trust them mates! Instead continue to take the fight to the EITC on both land and sea!
UPDATE: It's rumored the Black Guard will be roaming the town of Port Royal during the hours of 3:30PM - 5PM (B named Oceans) Friday, May 8 and 11AM - 1PM, and 2PM -3PM Saturday, May 9! (All times Pacific.) Be on the lookout Pirates, report any sightings!
