Light Spec Mystery (Quest)

Quick Quest Guide

What you will need: An adequate supply of cookies to renew your Pixie Dust (you can bake cookies in Dulcie's Kitchen) and 15 Blue Gems.

Quick Steps

• Go to Iridessa's Glade and ask her if she has any quests. Pick Light Spec Mystery.
• Gather 15 Blue Gems and give them to Iridessa.
• Fly to Havendish Square and enter Fairy Tale Theater. Return to Dessa.
• Go to The Bubbly Bog in Dewdrop Vale and start a new adventure called "Light Spec Mystery". Complete all the challenges within the adventure and return to Iridessa.
• Pick your reward and the quest is over.

In Depth Quest Guide

This is a full walk through for the quest, so if you're confused by any of the quick steps, hopefully these can help you out.

Head over to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully and ask her if she has any quests. If the quest is available, it will pop up immediately and you'll be able to begin. Upon starting the quest, Iridessa will greet you:

Iridessa: "Fly with you, sunshine! I’m really pleased that you did so well learning your newest Talent Skill, Fix!"
"Say, do you want some practice? I’ve been studying some Yellow Gems you brought me. It turns out only two of them have twinkling light specs inside."
"I still don’t know what light specs are or what they do. Do you want to help me experiment?"

Step 1

Iridessa: "Great! Now, light specs are only in Yellow Gems. Let’s see how light specs respond when their Yellow Gems are put near Blue Gems."
"Will you fly to The Never Mine and find me some Blue Gems?"

Fly to Chilly Falls and enter The Never Mine Wilderness. Gather 15 Blue Gems. Return to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully when you are done!

Story So Far

You’re helping Iridessa investigate light specs. Fly to The Never Mine and find Blue Gems!

This first step is a gathering task. To fulfill the requirement, you will need 15 Blue Gems. If you don’t have the 15 needed already, fly to The Never Mine and Go Scouting. Once you have acquired the necessary amount, head on back to Iridessa and talk to her.

Step 2

Iridessa: "Flickerific! Let’s see how our light specs react to a Blue Gem!"
"Wow! Hmmm ..."
"The light spec in one Yellow Gem twinkled brighter when I put it next to a Blue Gem, but the other one didn’t change at all. Interesting!"
"Let’s try another experiment. What might happen if a light spec in a Yellow Gem is exposed to really bright light?"
"Will you fly to Fairy Tale Theater and check the spotlights? Let me know if you think they’re bright enough to experiment with."

Fly to Fairy Tale Theater and see if the spotlights are lit. Return to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully when you are done!

When you are finished talking to Iridessa, fly to Havendish Square and enter Fairy Tale Theater. Simply enter the theater to complete this task. Then return to Iridessa.

Step 3

Iridessa: "They’re that bright? Excellent! I’ll take the gems with the light specs over there now!"
"While I’m there, could you do me a favor? Old Ogden is the wisest firefly in all of Pixie Hollow. He’s an expert on yellow light."
"I’d like to know if he’s ever heard of the light specs in Yellow Gems. Can you go visit him in Bubbly Bog?"

Fly to Dewdrop Vale and enter the Bubbly Bog Wilderness. Find Old Ogden the Firefly. Return to Iridessa's Glade in Sunflower Gully when you are done!

Story So Far

You’re helping Iridessa investigate light specs. Fly to Bubbly Bog and find Old Ogden the Firefly!

Leave Iridessa's Glade and fly to the Bubbly Bog. Start a new quest and select Light Spec Mystery. Complete all the challenges and report back to Dessa. Be sure to have enough cookies made prior to entering the Wilderness!

Iridessa: "What did Old Ogden say? What?! He’s never even heard of light specs?"
"Well, this IS a mystery! You’ll never guess what happened when I put the two gems with the light specs near the spotlights in Fairy Tale Theater."
"Both light specs stopped twinkling! Then I moved them away from the spotlights, and they began to twinkle again!"
"I’m going to have to do more research on this, but not right now. I have talent work to do. But thanks for your help, sunshine! And practice those Talent Skills!"
