Quick Steps

In Depth Quest Guide

This is a full walk through for the quest, so if you're confused by any of the quick steps, hopefully these can help you out.

Head over to Silvermist's Grotto in Dewdrop Vale and ask her if she has any quests. If you have finished the quest Making Rain, the quest should appear in the list of quests you may do and you can begin immediately. Upon starting the quest, Silvermist will greet you:

Silvermist: "Pixie Name Here! I have a surprise! You’ve been so helpful to everyone, and you’ve really shown talent. So I’m going to start teaching you Talent Skills!"
"Every talent guild has their own set of special skills that have been passed down from pixie to pixie for ... for probably forever!"
"Knowing these skills is really important in helping the seasons come and go on the mainland. And the first skill you’re going to learn is SPLASH."
"But before you learn it, you need to pass a few tests. Do you want to take the tests and learn your very first Talent Skill?"

''Editor’s Note: The original text of this quest included these lines of dialogue, which were changed.
"I think you’re ready. I mean, you’ve shown everyone how talented you are. And you’ve been so helpful! You’ve been gathering and tailoring and helping everyone with their talent work!"
"We use it to clean up ponds, give water to flowers, soak freshly-planted seeds, and even help the animal-talents give baths to bluebirds!"''

Step 1

Accept this Quest?

Silvermist: "Oh, this is great! I promise, I’ll be the best teacher you’ve ever had! Okay, how to get started ... um ... Oh! Yes! The tests!"
"Your first test is simple, and I know you’ve done it before -- gathering dewdrops from spider webs. But this time you need to get a LOT of them!"
"Let’s fly to Spider Silk Grotto and get to it! We’ll go through Neverberry Thicket."

Fly to Neverberry Thicket. Earn 8,000 points playing Water Web in Spider Silk Grotto. Return to Silvermist's Grotto in Dewdrop Vale when you are done!
Progress: # of 8,000

Story So Far

Silvermist wants to teach you your first Talent Skill, Splash. Prove you’re ready by gathering dewdrops from spider webs in Spider Silk Grotto!

Now it's time to head over to Neverberry Thicket and play Water Web. Reach a score of at least 8,000 points (whether in one shot or cumulative). Once you are done, go back and see Silvermist again.

Step 2

I gathered dewdrops with Silvermist!

Silvermist: "That was great, raindrop! You did an amazing job on your first test!"
"For your next test, I want you to deliver one of the dewdrops you collected to Rosetta -- by carrying it in your HANDS."
"Holding dewdrops is something only water-talents can do, but it still takes practice. Show me how good you are!"
"By the way, it’s easier to do if you just keep telling yourself it’s not a dewdrop -- it’s a DON’T DROP!"

Fly to Rosetta's Garden! You can get there from Cherryblossom Heights.

Story So Far

Silvermist wants to teach you your first Talent Skill, Splash. Prove you’re ready by delivering a dewdrop to Rosetta!

Next, fly over to Rosetta's Garden located in Cherryblossom Heights and talk to Rosetta. Give her the dewdrop.

Step 3

I have a dewdrop for Rosetta!

Rosetta: "My, sugar, you’re carrying that dewdrop like a pro! Oh, it’s from Silvermist? How sweet! I bet she noticed my roses were a teensy bit dry."
"Hold on, let me get somethin’ to put that dewdrop in before ya DO drop it. Ha! I guess I just told a little water-talent joke!"
"Here we go, a half hazelnut shell bowl. Perfect!"
"Here, put that dewdrop in this bowl, and I’ll take it to my roses. Thanks, sugar. And thank Sil for me too, would ya?"

Fly to Silvermist's Grotto! You can get there from Dewdrop Vale.

Story So Far

Silvermist wants to teach you your first Talent Skill, Splash. Prove you’re ready by returning to her for your next test!

Go see Silvermist in her Grotto to accept your next challenge.

Step 4

I’m here to see Silvermist!

Silvermist: "How did it go? Did you make it the entire way with the dewdrop? You DID? Oh, I’m so proud! You passed the test!"
"Next test! We water-talents help with all the splashing and washing supplies that are brought to the mainland each season."
"We’re always making fluff scrubbers, drying pads, mist puffs, and of course, the most important item -- splash sponges!"
"All of these are made from Dandelion Fluff. You guessed it -- for your next test, go gather Dandelion Fluff!"

Gather 30 Dandelion Fluff and bring them to Silvermist's Grotto in Dewdrop Vale.
Progress: # of 30

Story So Far

Silvermist wants to teach you your first Talent Skill, Splash. Prove you’re ready by gathering Dandelion Fluff!

So, once you're finished talking to Sil, it's time to gather up some Dandelion Fluff, if you don't have 30 already. Once you get the 30 Dandelion Fluff needed, head on back to Silvermist and give them to her.

Step 5

I have Dandelion Fluff for Silvermist!

Silvermist: "Bless my wings, you’re covered in fluffs! Just set them down."
"For your next test, I need to see how your water color sense is developing. On the mainland, water looks different during the different seasons."
"It’s deep blue and green in spring and summer, but pale blue and even silver in autumn and winter."
"It’s important for a water-talent to know all the delicate shades of water colors."
"So I want you to check all the dye shops in the Hollow and find the shade of blue that’s the exact color of ice. Bring me one bottle!"

Fly to Colette's Colors in Chilly Falls and get a bottle of Icicle Blue Dye. Bring it to Silvermist's Grotto in Dewdrop Vale when you are done!
Progress: # of 1

Story So Far

Silvermist wants to teach you your first Talent Skill, Splash. Prove you’re ready by checking the dye shops and bringing her one bottle that’s the exact blue shade of ice!

Head over to Chilly Falls. There you will find Colette's Colors. Purchase one bottle of Icicle Blue Dye and bring it to Silvermist.

Step 6

I have Icicle Blue Dye for Silvermist!

Silvermist: "That’s the one! That’s the exact color! Perfect, raindrop!"
"Okay, this is your most important test -- bounce fishy bubbles up Soapstone Stream. Bouncing bubbles is practically the heart of the Splash talent!"

Fly to Dewdrop Vale. Earn 10,000 points playing Bubble Bounce in Soapstone Stream. Return to Silvermist's Grotto in Dewdrop Vale when you are done!
Progress: # of 10,000

Story So Far

Silvermist wants to teach you your first Talent Skill, Splash. Prove you’re ready by bouncing fish bubbles up Soapstone Stream!

So, once you're finished talking to Silvermist, head across to the other side of Dewdrop Vale and play Bubble Bounce. Once you earn a score of 10,000 points (whether in one shot or cumulative), head back over to Silvermist.

Your Reward

I bounced fish bubbles at Soapstone Stream!

Silvermist: "Raindrop, you were positively splashtacular -- and you passed the test!"
"That means you passed ALL your tests, raindrop! You’ve earned your first Talent Skill -- SPLASH! Congratulations!"
"Now that you have your first Talent Skill, you’re ready to explore the Wilderness areas of Pixie Hollow."
"Start by practicing your new Splash skill in The Silver Trees! You can get there through Pumpkin Patch."
"Remember to bring your friends when you go into the Wilderness, raindrop. You’ll have to work together to finish the challenges you’ll find there!"

You will now be able to perform the Talent Skill Splash in all wilderness areas of Pixie Hollow. You will also now notice you have a blue Pixie Dust Meter at the top of your playing area. You also unlock the following quests upon completion: Learn to Move and Splashing the Wilderness.
