In Depth Quest Guide

This is a full walk through for the quest, so if you're confused by any of the quick steps, hopefully these can help you out.

Head over to Fawn's Hideout in Maple Tree Hill and ask Fawn if she has any quests. The quest should pop up immediately and you'll be able to begin. Upon starting the quest, Fawn will greet you:

Fawn: "Fairyname here! You’ve come to visit! Is it time for you to learn your next Talent Skill already?"
"I guess it is! Then let me teach you ILLUMINATE! Lots of critters sleep in the daytime an’ run around at night, so we animal-talents need to see in the dark."
"And Dessa would say, it’s time to get your glow on! Are you ready to learn illuminate?"

Step 1

Fawn: "Critterific! Now, obviously you need to be able to light fireflies. I know you’ve done it lots of times already. So fly to Twilight Glen an’ help Iridessa!"

Fly to Twilight Glen in Springtime Orchard. Earn 15,000 points playing Firefly Light-Up. Return to Fawn's Hideout in Maple Tree Hill when you are done! Progress: # of 15,000

Story So Far

Fawn is teaching you your fourth Talent Skill, Illuminate. Show her you know how to light up fireflies by helping Iridessa in Twilight Glen!

First thing to do is head over to Springtime Orchard and play Firefly Light-Up until you reach a score of 15,000 points (whether in one shot or cumulative). Once you're done, go back and see Fawn.

Step 2

Fawn: "Flaptastic! Let’s move on the [sic] next Illuminate lesson -- Dusk Bunnies!"
"Remember them? They’re magical bunny-shaped lights that follow you to illuminate your path."
"At first Iridessa an’ I used Pine Needles to make ‘em. Just break the needle an’ a Dusk Bunny appeared!"
"Now we use Yellow Gems, too. They make extra bright Dusk Bunnies! I want you to fly to The Never Mine an’ find as many Yellow Gems as you can!"

Fly to Chilly Falls and enter the Never Mine Wilderness. Find 12 Yellow Gems. Return to Fawn's Hideout in Maple Tree Hill when you are done!
Progress: # of 12

Story So Far

Fawn is teaching you your fourth Talent Skill, Illuminate. Show her that you understand how Dusk Bunnies can Illuminate by finding Yellow Gems in the Never Mine!

This next step is a gathering step. To fulfill the requirement, you will need 12 Yellow Gems. If you don’t have the 12 needed already, fly to the Never Mine and Go Scouting. Once you have acquired the necessary amount, head on back to Fawn and talk to her.

Step 3

Fawn: "Critterific! On to the next Illuminate lesson -- keepin’ critters warm! Light is warm, after all. I use it all the time on Otus."
"Otus is Scops the owl’s big brother. He lives near Snowcap Glade, an’ the guy is always cold. You can’t use Illuminate yet, but you can still help him."
"Fly to Mendy’s Tailoring Nook an’ make Otus a nice warm pair of Petal Slippers. Dye ‘em Thundercloud Gray, okay?"

Fly to Mendy's Tailoring Nook in Maple Tree Hill and make Otus a nice warm pair of Petal Slippers. Return to Fawn's Hideout in Maple Tree Hill when you are done!
Progress: # of 1

Story So Far

Fawn is teaching you your fourth Talent Skill, Illuminate. Show her that you understand the need to keep animals warm by Personal Tailoring a pair of Thundercloud Gray Petal Slippers at Mendy’s Tailoring Nook!

The first thing you need to do for this step of the quest is to see if you own a bottle of Thundercloud Gray Dye. If not, purchase one from Colette's Colors located in Chilly Falls. When you have your bottle of dye, head over to Mendy's Tailoring Nook in Maple Tree Hill. Once there, pick Personal Tailoring and choose Petal Slippers from the list. The pattern will be automatically open for Community Tailoring; however, you will need to have the pattern completed in order to Personal Tailor the item. When you have tailored the slippers, head on back to Fawn and speak to her.

Step 4

Fawn: "Oh, he’ll like these. The color will match his feathers just right! Good job, chickadee!"
"Next let’s talk about how you can use Illuminate to investigate mysterious things. Critters can’t resist a mystery, y’know."
"We animal-talents use Illuminate to help ‘em investigate things that might be dangerous. That way, we can help ‘em if something goes wrong."
"First I need to see how you investigate a mystery on your own. Look for some Very Mysterious Seeds in Silver Trees. See if you can figure out what they are!"

Fly to Pumpkin Patch and enter The Silver Trees Wilderness. Find Very Mysterious Seeds. Return to Fawn's Hideout in Maple Tree Hill when you are done! Progress: # of 1

Story So Far

Fawn is teaching you your fourth Talent Skill, Illuminate. Show her that you can safely investigate a mystery by identifying Very Mysterious Seeds in Silver Trees!

Leave Fawn's Hideout and fly to the Silver Trees in [[Pumpkin Patch]. Start a new quest and select Learn to Illuminate. Complete all the challenges and report back to Fawn what the Very Mysterious Seeds are. Be sure to have enough cookies made prior to entering the Wilderness.

Step 5

Fawn: "Buttercups?! HA! Of course! I guess that shows why I’m not a garden-talent!"
"The last thing you need to learn about Illuminate is that it’s useful in Knothole Pantry. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to go there late at night!"
"A raccoon gets the midnight munchies or a baby ferret can’t get to sleep without a snack -- oh, the reasons are endless!"
"But Illuminate makes it easy to find what you need. Let’s fly there now an’ take a look around. You should get to know the place well."

Fly to Knothole Pantry in Pumpkin Patch. Earn 15,000 points playing Harvest Hustle. Return to Fawn's Hideout in Maple Tree Hill when you are done!
Progress: # of 15,000

Story So Far

Fawn is teaching you your fourth Talent Skill, Illuminate. Show her you can make your way around Knothole Pantry by helping her tidy it up!

Now it's time to head over to Pumpkin Patch and play Harvest Hustle until you get a score of at least 15,000 points (whether in one shot or cumulative). Once you're done, go back and see Fawn for the last time.

Fawn: "You certainly did, chickadee! Great job!"
"So guess what? You just earned your fourth Talent Skill, ILLUMINATE! Congratulations!"
"Be sure to practice ALL your Talent Skills, ‘kay?"

You will now be able to perform the Talent Skill Illuminate in all wilderness areas of Pixie Hollow.
