Quick Steps

In Depth Quest Guide

This is a full walk through for the quest, so if you're confused by any of the quick steps, hopefully these can help you out.

Head over to Rosetta's Garden in Cherryblossom Heights and ask Rosetta if she has any quests. The quest should pop up immediately and you'll be able to begin. Upon starting the quest, Rosetta will greet you:

Rosetta: "Sugar, ever since you first Arrived, you’ve been so helpful. Talented, too! I’ve decided it’s time for me to teach you your Talent Skills!"
"Talent Skills will let you use pixie dust to do new and important things, especially when it comes to bringin’ each season to the mainland."
"Every talent guild has their own set of special skills that have been passed down from Fairy to Fairy since ... since the very first Fairies, I suppose!"
"The first Talent Skill we garden-talents learn is GROW. But to learn it, you’ll have to pass a few tests."
"How about it, sweet beet? Ready to take the tests an’ learn your very first Talent Skill?"

Step 1

Accept this Quest?

Rosetta: "You’re full of pixie pluck, Pixie Name Here! Now, I’m sure you think that a skill like Grow is just about helpin’ flowers along, right?" "Well, it’s much more than that. ALL livin’ things need to be looked after, both here and on the mainland."
"That means they need care an’ kindness as well as food an’ water. Then they can really bloom, whether they’re a tulip, a turnip, or a turtle!"
"Helpin’ things grow requires a lot of flyin’ around. Are your wings strong enough? Let’s see how you handle flyin’ up in Whisperin’ Winds!"

Fly to Cherryblossom Heights. Earn 4,000 points playing Petal Pick-Up in Whispering Winds. Return to Rosetta's Garden in Cherryblossom Heights when you are done!
Progress: # of 4,000

Story So Far

Rosetta wants to teach you your first Talent Skill. Prove that your wings are strong enough by flying in Whispering Winds!

After you leave Rosetta’s, fly to the top of Cherryblossom Heights and enter Whispering Winds. Play Petal Pick-Up until you reach a score of at least 4,000 points (whether in one shot or cumulative). When you are finished playing, go back and see Rosetta.

Step 2

I flew in Whispering Winds with Rosetta!

Rosetta: "You did great, sugarplum -- let’s call that test passed with flyin’ colors!"
"Your next test shouldn’t be a big surprise -- it’s all about gathering. Like I always say, you need lots of supplies to help things grow!"
"Let’s see how good you’ve gotten at gatherin’ seeds. Go get a season’s worth of Sunflower Seeds!"

Gather 8 Sunflower Seeds and bring them to Rosetta's Garden in Cherryblossom Heights.
Progress: # of 8

Story So Far

Rosetta wants to teach you your first Talent Skill. Prove you’re ready by gathering Sunflower Seeds!

An ingredient collecting task! You need to gather up some Sunflower Seeds, if you don't have 8 already. Once you get the 8 Sunflower Seeds needed, head on back to Rosetta and give them to her.

Step 3

I have Sunflower Seeds for Rosetta!

Rosetta: "Good gatherin’, sweet beet! Now let’s talk about water. All livin’ things need water, o’ course."
"We garden-talents know our plants. Some want a constant trickle of water, while others want a big gulp every few days."
"For the plants that want a trickle, I like to spread snow around them and let the snow melt. It works perfectly!"
"The best snow for this is in Blustery Brush. For your next test, flit on up there, help the Minister of Winter, and bring some snow back!"

Fly to Evergreen Overlook. Earn 4,000 points playing Snowflake Sweep in Blustery Brush. Return to Rosetta's Garden in Cherryblossom Heights when you are done!
Progress: # of 4,000

Story So Far

Rosetta wants to teach you your first Talent Skill. Prove you’re ready by helping the Minister of Winter in Blustery Brush!

It’s time to play another talent game -- this time it’s Snowflake Sweep in Blustery Brush. You can get there by going to Evergreen Overlook. Play until you reach a score of at least 4,000 points (whether in one shot or cumulative), then return to Rosetta.

Step 4

I have snow for Rosetta!

Rosetta: "This is perfect! Good job, sugar! Next comes a test about caring for more mature plants."
"Sometimes older plants get cold at night. The best way to keep ‘em warm is to pile Pine Needles over their roots."
"I want to see you gather up Pine Needles in the winter meadows. Fly to it, sweet beet!"

Gather 4 Pine Needles and bring them to Rosetta's Garden in Cherryblossom Heights.
Progress: # of 4

Story So Far

Rosetta wants to teach you your first Talent Skill! Prove you’re ready by gathering Pine Needles!

More ingredient collecting! This time you are looking for Pine Needles, if you don't have 4 already. Once you get the 4 Pine Needles needed, return to Rosetta and give them to her.

Step 5

I have Pine Needles for Rosetta!

Rosetta: "Plant-astic, sugar! Your next test is about protecting plants while they’re just teensy little seedlings."
"There are animals an’ bugs out there that can hurt ‘em. That’s why my garden has a fence!"
"When my fence needs repair, Tink lends a wing. I keep lots of Twigs around for her to use, so let’s see how many Twigs you can find!"

Gather 4 Twigs and bring them to Rosetta's Garden in Cherryblossom Heights.
Progress: # of 4

Story So Far

Rosetta wants to teach you your first Talent Skill. Prove you’re ready by gathering Twigs!

It's time for more collecting! You are searching for Twigs this time. If you don't have 4 already, flit around the Hollow until you have enough. Once you get the 4 Twigs needed, return to Rosetta and give them to her.

Step 6

I have Twigs for Rosetta!

Rosetta: "My, you’re doin’ so well! Let’s go to your very last test. As you may guess, the best part about growin’ plants is harvesting the crop."
"But you have to know when different fruits, veggies and flowers are ready for pluckin’! It’s all a matter of color."
"I want you to go to all the dye shops in the Hollow an’ find the dye that’s the exact color of a ripe strawberry. Bring back one bottle!"

Fly to Prism's Paints in Pumpkin Patch and get a bottle of Strawberry Red Dye. Bring it to Rosetta's Garden in Cherryblossom Heights when you are done!
Progress: # of 1

Story So Far

Rosetta wants to teach you your first Talent Skill. Prove you’re ready by buying a bottle of dye the exact shade of a ripe strawberry!

The final step is to purchase a Bottle of Strawberry Red Dye. You will need 51 Raspberries to buy it from Prism's Paints, which is located in Pumpkin Patch. After purchasing the dye bottle, fly back to Rosetta and give it to her.

Your Reward

I have Strawberry Red Dye for Rosetta!

Rosetta: "You did it, sugar! That’s the correct shade of dye! You’ve passed all the tests!"
"Oh, it’s gonna be such fun teachin’ you Talent Skills! In fact, you’ve just earned your very first one -- GROW! Congratulations!"
"Now that you have your first Talent Skill, you’re ready to explore Pixie Hollow’s Wilderness areas."
"Start by practicin’ your new Grow skill in the Silver Trees! You can get there through Pumpkin Patch."
"Remember to bring your friends when you go into the Wilderness, sugar. You’ll have to work together to finish the challenges you’ll find there!"

You will now be able to perform the Talent Skill Grow in all wilderness areas of Pixie Hollow. You will also now notice you have a pink Pixie Dust Meter at the top of your playing area. You also unlock the following quests upon completion: Learn to Heal and Growing the Wilderness.
