Getting Colorful is a quest you can get from Silvermist. Upon completion, you will have a choice of receiving two bottles of one of the following dyes: Bottle of Persimmon Orange Dye, Bottle of Crimson Red Dye, or Bottle of Marigold Yellow Dye.

Prerequisites: Making Rain must be completed.

Quick Steps

Go to Silvermist's Grotto and ask if she has any quests. Pick Getting Colorful.
Go to Bobbin's Tailoring Nook in Springtime Orchard and Community Tailor any shirt in any color. Return to Silvermist.
Fly back to Bobbin's Tailoring Nook and Community Tailor any skirt or trousers in any color. Return to Silvermist.
Go to Mendy's Tailoring Nook in Maple Tree Hill and Community Tailor any pair of shoes in any color. Return to Silvermist.
Fly back to Mendy's Tailoring Nook and Community Tailor any belt in any color. Return to Silvermist.
Gather 5 Meadow Grass and give them to Silvermist.
Pick your reward and the quest is over.

In Depth Quest Guide

This is a full walk through for the quest, so if you're confused by any of the quick steps, hopefully these can help you out.

Head over to Silvermist's Grotto in Dewdrop Vale and ask her if she has any quests. If you have finished the quest Making Rain, the quest should appear in the list of quests you may do and you can begin immediately. Upon starting the quest, Silvermist will greet you:

Silvermist: "Pixie Name Here! I was looking for you! A water-talent friend of mine, Trickle Frostwave, could use some help. You're just who we need!"
"Trickle and I work together to design the swirls and ripple patterns that go on frozen ponds during winter on the mainland."
"But lately Trickle’s been having trouble with her work."
"I think Trickle needs inspiration, like a new outfit! But ... well, I'm a terrible tailor. Can you help me make an outfit that will inspire Trickle?"

Step 1

Accept this Quest?

Once you agree, Silvermist is thrilled and gives you the first step.

Silvermist: "Whew, that's good! I was really hoping you'd say yes!"
"My plan is to put a little color in Trickle's life. Let's give Trickle some pizzazz!"
"Can you start by making an amazing new top? Go visit Bobbin at her tailoring nook in Springtime Orchard!"

Fly to Bobbin's Tailoring Nook in Springtime Orchard. Use Community Tailoring to make any top you choose. Return to Silvermist's Grotto in Dewdrop Vale when you are done!!

Story So Far

Silvermist wants to inspire her friend with a new outfit. Help her by Community Tailoring a colorful new top at Bobbin’s Tailoring Nook!

Once you're finished talking to Silvermist, head on over to Bobbin's Tailoring Nook in Springtime Orchard. Choose Community Tailoring and make a shirt. It doesn't matter which shirt you make or the color you choose. Once you finish tailoring, return to Silvermist.

Step 2

I made a top for Silvermist’s friend!

Silvermist: "Wow, that looks really nice! You could be a sewing-talent!"
"Now we need a skirt or maybe a pair of trousers to go with it. Will you visit Bobbin’s Tailoring Nook again?"

Fly to Bobbin's Tailoring Nook in Springtime Orchard. Use Community Tailoring to make any skirt or pair of trousers you choose. Return to Silvermist's Grotto in Dewdrop Vale when you’re done!!

Story So Far

Silvermist wants to inspire her friend with a new outfit. Help her by Community Tailoring a colorful new skirt or pair of trousers at Bobbin’s Tailoring Nook!

Flap back to Bobbin's Tailoring Nook. Choose Community Tailoring and make a skirt or pair of pants. It doesn't matter which skirt, trousers or shorts you make or the color you choose. Once you finish tailoring, return to Silvermist.

Step 3

I made clothes for Silvermist’s friend!

Silvermist: "Oh, I'm getting all teary! This came out even better than I'd hoped. *SNIFF* Bobbin must be so impressed with you!"
"I was hoping you'd make Trickle a pair of shoes, too. As Rosetta would say, what's a new outfit without new shoes?"
"If you visit Mendy at her tailoring nook in Maple Tree Hill, she can help you make a pair. You choose the style!"

Fly to Mendy's Tailoring Nook in Maple Tree Hill. Use Community Tailoring to make any pair of shoes you choose. Return to Silvermist's Grotto in Dewdrop Vale when you’re done!!

Silvermist wants to inspire her friend with a new outfit. Help her by Community Tailoring a new pair of shoes at Mendy’s Tailoring Nook!

Now you need to fly to the Hollow’s other tailoring nook, Mendy’s! It is located in Maple Tree Hill. Choose Community Tailoring and make a pair of shoes. It doesn't matter which shoes you make or the color you choose. Once you finish tailoring, return to Silvermist.

Step 4

I made new shoes for Silvermist’s friend!

Silvermist: "Pixie Name Here, you're really good at tailoring shoes! Maybe later I'll ask you to make ME a pair!"
"Now I need you to make just one last thing to finish Trickle's new outfit. Can you make a belt to match the new shoes?"

Fly to Mendy's Tailoring Nook in Maple Tree Hill. Use Community Tailoring to make any belt you choose. Return to Silvermist's Grotto in Dewdrop Vale when you’re done!!

Return to Mendy's Tailoring Nook. Choose Community Tailoring and make a belt. It doesn't matter which belt you make or the color you choose. Once you finish tailoring, return to Silvermist.

Step 5

I made a new sash for Silvermist’s friend!

Silvermist: "Oh my goodness, the belt matches the shoes perfectly!"
"Oops, I forgot about one LAST thing. Whoever heard of a gift that isn't tied up with a Meadow Grass ribbon?"

Gather 5 Meadow Grass and bring them to Silvermist's Grotto in Dewdrop Vale.

It’s time to gather up some Meadow Grass, if you don’t have 5 already. Once you get the required 5 Meadow Grass, return to Sil and give them to her.

Silvermist: "Perfect! I'll wrap everything up and fly it over to Trickle right away!"
"How's this message for the card? "Dear Trickle, we hope the colors in your new outfit inspire you! Love, Pixie Name Here and Silvermist.""
"Of course your name is on the card, silly! I couldn't have done any of this without you! I know Trickle will get her inspiration back in no time!"
"And ... well, I already told you I'm not very good at crafts and stuff ... but I thought you might want a colorful outfit for yourself so ..."
"Make yourself something bright and colorful at one of the tailoring nooks!"

You get a choice of three different dyes shown below. You will receive 2 bottles of whichever color of dye you choose. You also unlock the following Member quests upon completion: The Bubble Top Slipper Story, Advice For Silvermist and Sculpture Supplies.
