Critter Chorus Battle (Quest)

Critter Chorus Battle is a quest you can get from Fawn. Upon completion, you will receive a Merry Majorette Shako in a color that matches your talent (Bluejay Blue for Water-talents, Peachy Tan for Animal-talents, Zucchini Green for Tinker-talents, Plumeria Pink for Garden-talents and Corn Cob Yellow for Light-talents).


Prerequisites: Bunny Shivers.

Quick Quest Guide

This Quest has 10 steps.

What you will need:
Daisy Wrap: 10 Daisy Petals, 2 Ivy, 10 Spider Silk and 37 Twigs (to buy one Bottle of June Bug Green Dye).

Leafy Bubble Skirt: 4 Ivy, 5 Maple Leaves, 10 Spider Silk and 37 Twigs (to buy one Bottle of June Bug Green Dye).

Sunflower Cookies: 12 Acorns, 15 Snowflakes, 5 Honeycombs and 15 Sunflower Seeds.

Other ingredients: 10 Truffles, 15 Lily Petals (to buy one Bottle of Grassblade Green Dye), 74 Snowflakes (to buy one Bottle of Pine Green Dye) and 25 Sunflower Seeds (to buy one Bottle of Zucchini Green Dye).

In Depth Quest Guide

This is a full walk through for the quest, so if you're confused by any of the quick steps, hopefully these can help you out.

Head over to Fawn's Hideout in Maple Tree Hill and ask her if she has any quests. If you have finished the quest Bunny Shivers, the quest should appear in the list of quests you may do and you can start immediately. Upon starting the quest, Fawn will greet you:

Fawn: "Hey, Fairyname here, I got a riddle for ya! What do frogs an’ crickets have in common? Give up?"
"NOTHIN’! They have NOTHIN’ in common!!"
"Sorry. See, I conduct a frog chorus and a cricket chorus. A few days ago at practice, the frogs asked me which chorus is better."
"Guess what happened next? Yesterday at cricket rehearsal, the CRICKETS asked me the same thing!"
"And now the crickets and the frogs are arguing. They want me to make one of them the winner. I will NOT pick sides! Can you help me figure out what to do?"

Step 1

Accept this Quest?

After accepting the quest, Fawn will explain the first step.

Fawn: "Thanks! I’m about to go nuts over this and -- wait, here’s an idea!"
"I’ll teach the FROGS a CRICKET chorus song and the CRICKETS a FROG chorus song! Yeah, that should show each group just how talented the other group is!"
"But first I should show them both that I care about them. The frogs and crickets are both green ... ‘ll [sic] wear green to support both groups!"
"You’re a better tailor than I am, Fairyname here. Could you make me a June Bug Green top? See if Bobbin has the pattern for a Daisy Wrap top. I love those!"

Fly to Bobbin's Tailoring Nook in Springtime Orchard. Use Personal Tailoring to make a Daisy Wrap with June Bug Green dye. Return to Fawn's Hideout in Maple Tree Hill when you’re done!

The first thing you need to do for this step of the quest is to see if you own a bottle of June Bug Green Dye. If not, purchase one from Sunny's Shades in Neverfruit Grove. When you have your bottle of dye, head over to Bobbin's Tailoring Nook located in Springtime Orchard. Now you need to make sure you have the Daisy Wrap Pattern available and completed. You must complete the Oak Top Pattern first to open the Daisy Wrap. Once you have the pattern completed, choose Personal Tailoring and select Daisy Wrap from the list. Be sure to use your June Bug Green Dye! When you are finished tailoring the top, fly back to Fawn.

Step 2

I tailored a green Daisy Wrap for Fawn!

Fawn: "This top looks great! Nice tight stitches!"
"It’s almost time for frog chorus rehearsal! And I have cricket rehearsal right after frog rehearsal!"
"The crickets will be easier to deal with if I’m dressed ALL in green. I have a green top. While I’m gone, could you make me a June Bug Green Leafy Bubble Skirt? Please?"

Fly to Bobbin's Tailoring Nook in Springtime Orchard. Personal Tailor a June Bug Green Leafy Bubble Skirt. Return to Fawn's Hideout in Maple Tree Hill when you’re done!

You will need another bottle of June Bug Green Dye. If you didn’t purchase the second bottle during the first step, return to Sunny's Shades in Neverfruit Grove and buy one. When you have your bottle of dye, go back to Bobbin's Tailoring Nook in Springtime Orchard. Now you need to make sure you have the Leafy Bubble Skirt Pattern available and completed. You must complete the Sweetgum Leaf Skirt Pattern first to open the Leafy Bubble Skirt. Once you have the pattern completed, choose Personal Tailoring and select Leafy Bubble Skirt from the list. Be sure to use your June Bug Green Dye! When you are finished tailoring the skirt, head back to Fawn’s.

Step 3

I tailored a green Leafy Bubble Skirt for Fawn!

Fawn: "Oh, chickadee, this skirt fits just right! But guess what -- the frogs took one look at the top you made an’ said it’s CRICKET green."
"Even worse, when I tried to teach ‘em “Cricket Serenade,” they refused to croak!"
"An’ then on my way back here, I found out that the CRICKET chorus thinks I made the green top just for the FROGS! So now the crickets are mad!"
"Critters can really drive ya flappy. *SIGH* I have to make sure those crickets chirp at rehearsal today."
"I know! I’ll give ‘em a treat! Crickets adore berries, so I’ll look for some. While I do that, will you go bake some Sunflower Cookies at Dulcie’s Kitchen?"

Go to Dulcie's Kitchen in Neverberry Thicket and Personal Bake 6 Sunflower Cookies! Return to Fawn's Hideout in Maple Tree Hill when you’re done!

Story So Far

Fawn’s critter choruses are fighting over who is better. Help Fawn out by baking 6 Sunflower Cookies in Dulcie’s Kitchen!

This baking task must be completed in Dulcie's Kitchen, which is located in Neverberry Thicket. In order to Personal Bake the Sunflower Cookies, the recipe must be available and completed. To open the recipe, you must first complete the Acorn Cookie Recipe. Once you have the recipe ready for Personal Baking, bake your cookies. Try for a high score so that you earn all 6 needed cookies in the first batch. If you don’t make the 6 Sunflower Cookies needed the first time baking, continue to Personal Bake until you do. Fly back to Fawn’s when you have completed your baking task.

Step 4

I have Sunflower Cookies for Fawn!

Fawn: "Thanks, chickadee! I’m still looking for the right kind of berries."
"We need to look in Knothole Pantry. I’ll meetcha there!"

Fly to Knothole Pantry in Pumpkin Patch. Earn 5,000 playing Harvest Hustle. Return to Fawn's Hideout in Maple Tree Hill when you’re done!

Now it's time to head over to Pumpkin Patch and play Harvest Hustle until you reach a score of 5,000 points (whether in one shot or cumulative). Once you're done, go back and see Fawn again

Step 5

I have berries for Fawn!

Fawn: "Thanks! We just need one more thing. Truffles. Yup, believe it or not, crickets like Truffles!"
"I have to get ready for cricket chorus rehearsal. Will you fly into the Wilderness an’ find some Truffles?"

Gather 10 Truffles from the Wilderness and bring them to Fawn's Hideout in Maple Tree Hill.

It's time to gather up some Truffles now, if you don't have 10 already. Once you get the required 10 Truffles, head back to Fawn to continue the quest.

Step 6

I found Truffles in the Wilderness!

Fawn: "Great! I’ll bring all these treats to the cricket chorus rehearsal. Can you do me one more favor while I’m gone? I have a fashion question for Rosetta."
"Ask her just what shade of green will make both the crickets an’ the frogs happy. I’ll re-dye my new rehearsal outfit that color!"

Fly to Rosetta's Garden! You can get there from Cherryblossom Heights.

This simple step is just a flit over to visit Rosetta. Talk to her in her Garden which is located in Cherryblossom Heights.

Step 7

I’m here to see Rosetta!

Rosetta: "Fairyname here! Have you come to try some fresh berry juice? It’s to fly for!"
"Fawn’s got chorus troubles? Well, animals can be odd sometimes. As for the color green ... lemme think ..."
"Sugar, I’m gonna need a few bottles of green dye to sort this problem out. Can you flap on over to Daisy’s Dyes? Let’s start with a bottle of Grassblade Green."
"Can you flap on over to Daisy’s Dyes? Let’s start with a bottle of Grassblade Green."[sic]

Fly to Daisy's Dyes in Cherryblossom Heights and get a bottle of Grassblade Green Dye. Bring it to Rosetta's Garden in Cherryblossom Heights when you’re done!

Leave Rosetta's Garden and flap over to the other side of Cherryblossom Heights. There you will find Daisy's Dyes. Purchase your bottle of Grassblade Green Dye and give it to Rosetta.

I have Grassblade Green Dye for Rosetta!

Rosetta: "Let’s take a close look at this. Hmm ... looks a bit pale. The frogs will definitely think it’s a cricket color."
"Why don’t you get me the green dye that Colette sells at her shop in Chilly Falls? It’s called Pine Green. Maybe that’s a better color for Fawn to use."

Fly to Colette's Colors in Chilly Falls and get a bottle of Pine Green Dye. Bring it to Rosetta's Garden in Cherryblossom Heights when you’re done!

You are off to purchase another bottle of dye! This time you need to fly up to Chilly Falls and enter Colette's Colors. Get your bottle of Pine Green Dye, return to Rosetta's Garden and give her the dye.

Step 9

I have Pine Green Dye for Rosetta!

Rosetta: "Let’s see how Pine Green compares to Grassblade Green."
"My, Pine Green is DARK! The crickets will think it’s frog green for sure."
"Sugar, you’re gonna have to get one last bottle of dye, Zucchini Green from Prism’s Paints in Pumpkin Patch."

Fly to Prism's Paints in Pumpkin Patch and get a bottle of Zucchini Green Dye. Bring it to Rosetta's Garden in Cherryblossom Heights when you’re done!

You’ve had some practice at purchasing dye bottles by now, so fly over to Prism's Paints in Pumpkin Patch and get a bottle of Zucchini Green Dye. Return to Rosetta and give her the dye.

Step 10

I have Zucchini Green Dye for Rosetta!

Rosetta: "Zucchini Green is just right!"
"That’s the color that Fawn should dye her outfit. The frogs an’ the crickets should both like it."

Fly to Fawn's Hideout! You can get there from Maple Tree Hill.

Fawn’s critter choruses are fighting over who is better. You’ve found just the right green dye color for Fawn to use on her rehearsal outfit! Take the dye to Fawn!

Return to Fawn in her Hideout to speak to her one last time.

Your Reward

I need to tell Fawn about Zucchini Green Dye!

Fawn: "ARRGH! The crickets ate all the treats I brought to their rehearsal, and then they refused to learn the frog chorus song “Shine On, You Crazy Dewdrop.”"
"You know, because it’s a FROG song."
"Oh, what did Rosetta say about greens? Zucchini Green, huh? Got it. I’ll re-dye the rehearsal outfit you made me right now."
"But I don’t think a green outfit will help now. The frogs an’ crickets are more stubborn than ever! What can we do?"
"This is for you Fairyname here -- thanks for all your help. You can wear it whenever you feel a song coming on!"

The color of the Merry Majorette Shako you receive is pre-determined based on your talent. You also unlock the following quest upon completion: Critter Chorus Battle 2.
