The Color of Northern Lights (Quest)

Quick Quest Guide
This Quest has 11 steps.What you will need: 25 Buttercup Petals, 74 Snowflakes (to buy one Bottle of Pine Green Dye) and 51 Acorns (to buy one Bottle of Pepper Black Dye).
Quick Steps
- Go to Rosetta's Garden and ask if she has any quests. Pick The Color of Northern Lights.
- Go to the Bubbly Bog in Dewdrop Vale and start a new adventure called The Color of Northern Lights. Complete all the challenges within the adventure and return to Rosetta.
- Gather 25 Buttercup Petals and give them to Rosetta.
- Earn a score of 1,500 points on Petal Pick-Up and return to Rosetta.
- Fly to Silvermist's Grotto in Dewdrop Vale and speak to Sil.
- Return to Rosetta.
- Earn a score of 3,000 points on Harvest Hustle and return to Rosetta.
- Fly to Tinker's Nook in Cottonpuff Field and speak to Tinker Bell.
- Revisit Rosetta.
- Purchase a Bottle of Pine Green Dye from Colette's Colors, give it to Rosetta.
- Earn a score of 1,500 points on Firefly Light-Up and return to Rosetta.
- Purchase a Bottle of Pepper Black Dye from Prism's Paints, give it to Rosetta.
- Pick your reward and the quest is over.
In Depth Quest Guide
This is a full walk through for the quest, so if you're confused by any of the quick steps, hopefully these can help you out.
Head over to Rosetta's Garden in Cherryblossom Heights and ask her if she has any quests. If you have finished the quest The Strength of Northern Lights, the quest should appear in the list of quests you may do and you'll be able to begin immediately. Upon starting the quest, Rosetta will greet you:
Rosetta: "You’re here to help me with the Northern Lights? Why, Fairyname Here, that’s flaptastic!"
"The garden-talents are in charge of makin’ the powdered dyes that give the Northern Lights their color."
"We put the dyes in specially marked pouches, then the fast-flying-talents zip through an’ sprkinkle the dye all around."
"So are ya ready, sugar?"
Step 1
Accept this Quest?Once you agree, Rosetta is thrilled and gives you the first step.
Rosetta: "First we need something to mix the dyes in. Hmm... Sedgewick Squirrel uses walnut shells to sort his seeds. Walnut shells are the perfect size!"
"Will you fly to Bubbly Bog and find Sedgewick Squirrel?"
Fly to Dewdrop Vale and enter the Bubbly Bog Wilderness. Find Sedgewick Squirrel. Return to Rosetta's Garden in Cherryblossom Heights when you are done!

You’re helping Rosetta with the Northern Lights. Fly to Bubbly Bog and find Sedgewick Squirrel!
Leave Rosetta's Garden and fly to The Bubbly Bog in Dewdrop Vale. Start a new quest and select The Color of Northern Lights. Complete all the challenges and return to Rosetta. Be sure to have enough cookies made prior to entering the Wilderness.
Step 2
I found Sedgewick Squirrel!Rosetta: "Good! Looks like Sedgewick let you borrow his walnut shells! I’ll bake him Acorn Cookies as a thank-you later."
"Now let’s see... I need Buttercup Petals to make yellow dye. While I wash the walnut shells, will you gather Buttercup Petals?"
Gather 25 Buttercup Petals and bring them to Rosetta's Garden in Cherryblossom Heights.

Story So Far
You’re helping Rosetta with the Northern Lights. Gather Buttercup Petals!
An ingredient collecting task! You need to gather up some Buttercup Petals, if you don’t have 25 already. Once you get the required 25 Buttercup Petals, return to Rosetta and give them to her.
Step 3
I have Buttercup Petals for Rosetta!Rosetta: "Thanks, peaches! Next we need tulip petals to make purple dye."
"Why don’t you come with me to Whisperin’ Winds? We can catch some there!"
Fly to Cherryblossom Heights. Earn 1,500 points playing Petal Pick-Up in Whispering Winds. Return to Rosetta's Garden in Cherryblossom Heights when you are done!

Story So Far
You’re helping Rosetta with the Northern Lights. Go catch flower petals with her in Whispering Winds!
Talent game time! Leave Rosetta's Garden and fly up to the top of Cherryblossom Heights. Play Petal Pick-Up until you reach the score of 1,500 points (whether in one shot or cumulative), then return to Rosetta.
Step 4
I caught flower petals with Rosetta!Rosetta: "We got plenty of tulip petals. Flaptastic! The next color we need is green."
"Silvermist gathers green seaweed from the shore all the time. Will you visit her an’ see if she has any we could use?"
Fly to Silvermist's Grotto! You can get there from Dewdrop Vale.

Flap over to Dewdrop Vale and enter Silvermist's Grotto. Talk to Sil!
Step 5
I’m here to see Silvermist!Silvermist: "Raindrop! Did you come to see the seaweed I found this morning? It’s so beautiful!"
"You’re pulling my wing -- Rosetta needs some? Well, it’s a good thing I have lots! Here, take this. I hope it makes good dye!"
Fly to Rosetta's Garden! You can get there from Cherryblossom Heights.

You’re helping Rosetta with the Northern Lights. Silvermist just gave you green seaweed. Now take it to Rosetta!
Revisit Rosetta in her Garden. Deliver the seaweed!
Step 6
I have seaweed for Rosetta!Rosetta: "What a perfect green! Thanks, sweet beet!"
"While I’m makin’ the green dye, can you fly to Knothole Pantry an’ find me some Raspberries? They’re for red dye, of course."
Fly to Pumpkin Patch. Earn 3,000 points playing Harvest Hustle in Knothole Pantry. Return to Rosetta's Garden in Cherryblossom Heights when you are done!

You’re helping Rosetta with the Northern Lights. Find Raspberries in Knothole Pantry with Fawn!
Another talent game! This time you need to play Harvest Hustle until you reach the score of 3,000 points (whether in one shot or cumulative), then return to Rosetta.
Step 7
I have Raspberries for Rosetta!Rosetta: "Here, I’ll put those Raspberries over with the walnut shells."
"Say, did I tell you about my Tillandsia plant? I brought it back from the mainland. It doesn’t need dirt. It can grow in the air! Isn’t that somethin’?"
"Anyway, it’s got deep blue flowers, so I’m gonna use ‘em to make blue dye."
"But the leaves are pretty thick, so I gave ‘em to Tinker Bell to make into powder. Will you visit her and see if it’s ready?"
Fly to Tinker's Nook! You can get there from Cottonpuff Field.

Flap over to Cottonpuff Field and enter Tinker's Nook. Talk to Tink!
Step 8
I’m here to see Tinker Bell!Tinker Bell: "Hi, Fairyname here! I just made the Tillandsia petal powder for Rosetta. Teeterin’ teapots, that was fun!"
"You’re here to pick it up for her? Flitterific! Here ya go!"
Fly to Rosetta's Garden! You can get there from Cherryblossom Heights.
Story So Far
You’re helping Rosetta with the Northern Lights. You just got Tillandsia flower petal powder from Tinker Bell. Now take it to Rosetta!
Flit back to Rosetta’s and give her the powder.
Step 9
I have Tillandsia petal powder for Rosetta!Rosetta: "What a pretty blue color! It’s just what I was hopin’ for!"
"Not at all like the seaweed green dye I just made. The color turned out... well, it’s just all wrong for the Northern Lights."
"But I think I can fix it with some Pine Green Dye. Will you go get a bottle of it from Colette at her dye shop in Chilly Falls?"
Fly to Colette's Colors in Chilly Falls and get a bottle of Pine Green Dye. Bring it to Rosetta's Garden in Cherryblossom Heights when you are done!

You are off to purchase a bottle of dye! You need to fly up to Chilly Falls and enter Colette's Colors. Get your bottle of Pine Green Dye, return to Rosetta's Garden and give her the dye.
Step 10
I have Pine Green Dye for Rosetta!Rosetta: "Yep, that’s the one. Stay here a minute."
"I’ll start by adding one drop... Hm, looks better. Two drops? Even better. Three drops... ? PERFECT! THAT’S IT!"
"The green dye is perfect! What I need now are lit-up fireflies to make sure all the dyes dry out. They have to be nice hard powders."
"Fly to Twilight Glen and light up some fireflies, would you, sugar? I’ll bet Iridessa will be there to help!"
Fly to Springtime Orchard. Earn 1,500 points playing Firefly Light-Up in Twilight Glen. Return to Rosetta's Garden in Cherryblossom Heights when you are done!

You’re helping Rosetta with the Northern Lights. Fly to Twilight Glen and light up fireflies!
Play Firefly Light-Up in Springtime Orchard until you reach a score of 1,500 points (whether in one shot or cumulative). Fly back to Rosetta when you are done.
Step 11
I have lit-up fireflies for Rosetta!Rosetta: "I know these little fireflies! You’re Spark, right? And you two are Flash and Flicker! Follow me, I’ll show you where to shine."
"Glow as warm as you can over these walnut shell bins, okay?"
"Only one thing left to do, sugar. I need to mark each carry pouch with the color that’s inside. We don’t want to get ‘em mixed up!"
"How about gettin’ a bottle of Pepper Black Dye from Prism’s Paints over in Pumpkin Patch? We’ll use the dye to mark the pouches."
Fly to Prism's Paints in Pumpkin Patch and get a bottle of Pepper Black Dye. Bring it to Rosetta's Garden in Cherryblossom Heights when you are done!

You are off to purchase another bottle of dye! Head to Pumpkin Patch and enter Prism's Paints. Get your bottle of Pepper Black Dye, return to Rosetta's Garden and give her the dye.

"You know me -- I love shoes! And these are so pretty! Speakin’ of pretty, Silvermist needs help with her Northern Lights job. Visit her, okay?"
You'll receive a Tundra Blue Tillandsia Slippers as shown below. You also unlock the following quest upon completion: The Shape of Northern Lights.
