Do you have a VMK Quest Kiosk?

Please be sure to check out the FAQs and then check out the tutorial that walks you step by step through the process.

Quest-building Tip of the Week: Change your Quest often to keep it fun and interesting, and to keep Players coming back to play again and again. Consider shaking things up a bit by offering new challenges, or old challenges in interesting ways.

"Tikis In The Outfield"

How do you combine Baseball rooms and Tiki Idol Pins into one theme? By calling it Tikis In The Outfield of course! All month the VMK Hosting team will be offering themed baseball games and other fun things to do. Check the Calendar for details. Watch the Newsletter for information on how to obtain the Baseball room and other items for your very own.

MythBusters

Myth: You can get banned for charging someone to play a game in your guest room. Fact: This is not true. Each room owner has the right to set the rules of their own game, as long as the room owner informs Players of the rules up front and applies them fairly to all. Any Player who doesn't want to pay can look for another room that doesn't charge. Please note, this should not be confused with charging for Quests or Quest help.

Myth: If I told a staff person in the game that my stuff was stolen, I don't need to do anything else. Fact: This is not true. Please be sure to report situations like this via Contact Us. Remember, the more information you give us the better chance we have of resolving the situation for you. .

Myth: Its ok to tell someone my user name on another Disney site. Fact: This is not true. We don't allow the exchange of any information that would allow contact outside of VMK.

What makes a Guest Room award-worthy?

Guest or Game Rooms that stand out show originality in concept and design. It could be a use of conventional furniture in unconventional ways, the use of a theme or color, or humor. Game rooms that get the nod offer a new game idea or a new twist on an old favorite. In all rooms we look for room owners who welcome everyone with a smile and show a willingness to answer questions about their room.

Scam Alert

All Quests, whether they are official VMK Quests or Quests made by Players, are free to everyone. Please don't pay anyone to do their Quest, or for help completing Quests. If a Player is asking for items before you can join their Quest, or to be "paid" to help you with a Quest, please report them and then leave their room. No prize is worth being scammed over, and VMK won't replace these items for you. Players caught charging to participate in Quests may be banned for scamming.

VMK Staff Profiles

Each week we interview a different member of the VMK Staff. Pay attention - the answers may prove useful in VMK-hosted trivia games!

Staff name: VMK_Hula

Three favorite pieces of furniture, and why?

  • Parrot Palm - Perfect for making a tropical atmosphere anywhere you go!
  • Tiki Fountain - Provides a calming, serene feeling to all your tiki huts.
  • Tangaroa Tiki Idols - What would life be without Tikis to hula with!

Favorite *type* of Guest Room?
I enjoy rooms that are made just to hang out and have a good time. It's fun to talk with your fellow players and enjoy each others company. A dance floor to Hula on is also always a great sight!

Favorite Public Space?
Main street - A great place to remember fun times at the Disney Parks, and a good place to welcome new VMK players to the game.

Favorite Mini-Game? (ie: Pirates, haunted Mansion .. not the hosted games)
Haunted Mansion - It's so fun to vacuum up ghosts and you earn great credits too!

Best VMK moment?
Too many to name just one! My favorite moments are when the players Hula dance with me or laugh at my corny jokes.

Favorite place to hang out in VMK?
In all the great rooms players build. Thanks for always welcoming me!

Best tip for someone new to VMK?
If you have questions about the game, look for a Community Leader. They are happy to help you and are easy to recognize by the CL_ in front of their player name.

What one safety tip would you like to share with our readers?
If a trade sounds too good to be true, it probably is.. Be sure you are happy with the items you see in the window before pressing the accept button. Do not ever agree to trade if the person promises to give you the item later, or needs to take a pin off after you trade. These are usually scams and you will lose your items. And be sure to buckle up!

CL_Goofenator invites you to come see The I, The Only, Talking Leota. She reads fortunes, tells stories, and some really bad (but funny) jokes.

You don't have to wait a half hour after a meal before swimming if you go to Pool Party! by CL_Mamacita. The room owner shows great creativity in her use of ice and space seats to make a swimming pool in space, complete with pool floaties and a diving area!

Best Game Room - 1st Prize

Test your memory in Junk in the Attic. PrettyAlissa offers up a VMK style version of the old memory game, using another guest room as the "attic" where players need to memorize what is in the room and guess correctly what she removed from it. She is very polite, friendly and helpful to players in her game.
