Secrets Revealed
Staff Secrets Revealed! This week staff members share more of their top tips for fun in VMK:
- You can play the Tomorrowland Arcade games as often as you want, but can only win the prize once per day.
- Some pieces of furniture have actions attached to them. Lights turn on, candles light, fires flicker. To see if an object is animated, double-click it; you may be pleasantly surprised!
- The VMK Values are here to keep you safe. Please don't "dance" around our dictionary.
- Create a game in your Guest Room, then invite your friends to come and play. You don't have to give prizes to the winners; hosting a game is a great way to make friends.
- Can't tell which player said what? Here's a hint: the color of the outline on the speech bubble matches the player's shirt.
- If you see someone you want to trade with, click their character and read their motto. Those who don't want to trade often say so right up front. If someone says they don't want to trade, respect their wishes.
- Can't figure something out? Look for Players whose name starts with CL_ These are Community Leaders, and they're here to help you.
Shoppers Alert!
Our costume department has been busy restocking for Halloween, and our shops will soon be overflowing. We'll be adding new outfits each day next week:
Oct. 24: Princess (yellow), Explorer (yellow)
Oct. 25: Cowboy (black)
Oct. 26: Princess (Pink), Native American
Oct. 27: Explorer (Green), Cowboy (Brown)
Oct. 28: Haunted Mansion suit (black), Princess (blue)
Oct. 31: Haunted Mansion suit (grey)
All of the above outfits will disappear from the shops when VMK closes on Halloween, so be sure to get yours, and maybe a spare!
Event News
What's in your character's epitaph? If your VMK character kicked the bucket, what would the tombstone say? We invite you to compose a ditty to tell the (short) tale and send it in. We'll run the best of the worst in our next two Newsletters.
Send in your entry via the Contact Us form, using the "I want to send in something for the newsletter" option. If you are under the age of 13 please remember to have a Parent send it in for you. Entries must be received no later than 10:00pm Pacific on October 28, 2005. No late entries please (oh, the irony!). One entry per Player, please; additional entries will not be considered and excessive entries may disqualify you. Here are some epitaphs from around the world to get your started — create your own, and send it in:
Here lies the body of our Anna
Done to death by a banana
It wasn't the fruit that laid her low
But the skin of the thing that made her go.
Mary Lass
Missed the brake and hit the gas.
Once I wasn't
Then I was
Now I ain't again
Here lies Walter Dudley
He found out too late,
Dobermans are not cuddly
Here lies Bungee Biff
His rope was longer,
than the cliff!
VMK Halloween Event
VMK Halloween Event: We don't want you to miss out on a second of the Trick-or-Treating fun in your neighborhood, so our party will be on Sunday October 30th:
When: Sunday October 30, noon and 10:00pm (Eastern)
Where: VMK Prize Machine (Guest Room)
What: Spin the Random Number Generator and win a prize. Yes, it really is that simple. No questions to answer, no rooms to decorate. Just show up, spin it, and win it!
When: Sunday October 30, all day
Where: Castle Forecourt area of Main Street
What: Put on your favorite outfit and have a great day. If a wandering member of the VMK Staff sees you and likes your costume — you could win a prize!
If a Player tells you that they can make you a Community Leader, the Player is either mistaken or intentionally trying to mislead you. The only way you can apply is through VMK's Contact Us page. Never try to apply in any other way.
