Last week's question:

Which feature film did Sorcerer Mickey first appear in?

Sorcerer Mickey

Answer: Fantasia

A film of several first, Fantasia was the first feature film to be shown in multi-channel sound. It was also the first feature film to showcase a "modern" Mickey – animator Fred Moore redesigned Mickey for the film, giving him more human-like features. Finally, Fantasia is also thought to be the first American feature film released that had no opening credits.

Did you know: Composer Igor Stravinsky offered to compose an entirely new piece of music for Walt Disney when Stravinsky was contacted about the music rights for "The Rite of Spring." "The Rite of Spring" sequence from Fantasia inspired the "Primeval World" diorama featured on the Disneyland Railroad.

In a nod to Walt Disney, Mickey's master, the Sorcerer was nicknamed Yen Sid by Disney animators. Yen Sid is "Disney" spelled backwards.

Yensid

The Sorcerer's raised eyebrow was a look animators copied from their boss, Walt Disney.
