New Igloo Music Today!

Hello Penguins,

Hope you're still having fun with your instruments - we think it's awesome that you've been playing in bands with your buddies. We've seen some pretty cool music-themed igloo parties around lately. Here's a really creative one we found:

Music Igloo

Make sure you check out the music playlist in your igloo today. We added some new tracks, including some of the songs from Music Jam! As always, we'd love to hear about the parties you're throwing in your igloos and what music you like best.

In other news: We've heard from a few of you that you've seen penguins with a name like 'P88935393' instead of 'Penguin88935393' and you were wondering if it was a bug. Don't worry -- it's not a bug. We just shortened the word so we could invite more penguins to join us on the island! And they're like names - totally unique. If you've got one of those under your penguin, nobody else has the same one.

Until then...Waddle on!

Hello Penguins!

There were tons of great comments about your favorite Music Jam places. Linda4778 said:

I dont really know. All of them are amazing!!i think it might be the live music in the lighthouse because you can hear your own music. for example you play the drums and you hear the sound of drums playing. CP ROCKS!!

CP Rocks

We think that one's cool because we heard a lot of you say that. So...since so many of you wrote about it, the team's been working to make the Lighthouse stage a place where you'll always be able to hear some of the instruments you play! Thanks Linda4778!

I was looking for today's Reviewed by You question and noticed the article in the Club Penguin Times that talks about Gary the Gadget Guy. He says he wants to change the windows in the Underground---I wonder how he plans to do that? It sounds like he's working on something that will require your help very soon (I'll have an update next week)!! In the meantime, it got me thinking about his inventions. So we want to know: What's your favorite Gary invention - and why?

Happy77 talks tunes (with Screenhog)!

Greetings, Penguins!

Music Jam (I like jam) is all wrapped up, but I think music is always cool to celebrate. We wanted to give you more ways to have fun with it, and if you check out the 101 Days of Fun Offline Activities on the website, you'll see some sheet music. You can use it to learn to play a Club Penguin song! I know Screenhog's really into music so I asked him about it.

Music Page

Q: We checked out the sheet music - Where can penguins find that song in Club Penguin?

A: You can hear it on the homepage when you click the Tour Guide and start the movie.

Q: The team is doing some work at the Lighthouse stage so that (just like during the Music Jam) we'll be able to hear certain instruments when we play there. What do you think?

A: I'm glad. However, I personally like seeing the songs that penguins play and sing all over Club Penguin even more.

Q: Do you play any instruments? Got any quick tips to share with other musically inclined penguins?

A: Yep, I can play a few - the alto saxophone, a few percussion instruments, but my all-time favorite is the piano. To any of you who play real instruments, keep it up! Find a song and see if you can learn how to play it, or even try and compose your own music. All of Club Penguin's music is made by someone, and maybe someday that someone could be you!

New igloo music ready on Friday... Hope you're still having fun with your bands. I'll never get tired of having really loud igloo parties!

Until then...Waddle on!!

Music Jam a hit!

Hello Penguins!

It's been great to hear how much you loved the Music Jam. We saw tons of awesome bands, and you guys have been really creative all over the island with the music party stuff. A lot of you told us that you liked being able to hear your instruments at the Lighthouse stage. Since we heard from so many of you, we're going to make that a permanent thing. The team is working so that in about a week, anytime you play at the Lighthouse stage with certain instruments, you'll be able to hear them! Let us know what you think.

Music

Even though the Music Jam is officially done, some of the party music will be available in your igloos this Friday. To get ready for the new tracks, check out the latest Better Igloos catalog (it came out just over a week ago), and then decorate with some music items to keep your own party going!

Hello Penguins! Voting started for the brand new penguin color today and already it's pretty busy at the booth: Color Voting Booth

It'll be there in the Forest until July 27, so check it out before then and cast your ballot to help decide. I also wanted you know about the three new postcards that are available right now! You can send one to your buddies to try to get them to vote for the same color as you. I've seen penguins all over the island saying which color they want. It's cool. In Other News: Let us know what you're doing for this last weekend of Music Jam! Until then...Waddle on!

Screenhog on Music Jam!

Hey everyone, Screenhog here!

Here's a quick list of some of the things we don't want you to miss at the party:

  • If you have an instrument, then you should go to the Lighthouse stage! If you play your drums, tuba, trombone, or any guitar, you can actually hear what you're playing. Just wear the instrument (only the instrument and no other items) and dance!
  • The Underground Cave has a floor piano! Step on a key. Oh, and the switch on the wall lets you hear other penguins!
  • There are musical icicles in the Mine. Mouse over them!
  • Battle of the Bands at the Snow Forts! The stages are connected to a meter and the one with the most penguins wins!
  • The Music Maker 3000 is back! Last year it was in the Dojo but this time it's near the Snow Forts. Bring some friends and play giant musical instruments.
  • Keep checking out the big stage at the Dock as it plays music from all of the other stages. (It's also the entrance to the Backstage.)
Before and After

We hope you're having a lot of fun. Let us know your favorite things at the party!

Until then...Waddle on!

Happy77 talks music décor

Greetings, Penguins!

The Music Jam Party starts this Friday and there are some amazing band rehearsals happening all over the island. It's so cool to see you guys getting ready. I saw the pic of the Lighthouse from Billybob's Monday post - pretty impressive. It made me so excited to actually see the party and I wanted to talk to someone on the team who worked on the decorations.

Sketch to Finished

Q: I know there are a lot of different music stages for this party. Which one was the most fun to work on?

A: All the stages were great to work on, but if I had to pick a favorite I'd say the big stage at the dock. It changes themes throughout the party.

Q: How did you come up with all the different decorations?

A: The focus was kept on two things, music stages and things that make noise. So there are different stages, but also some cool noise-making surprises!

Q: I heard rumors about a chocolate fountain in one of the backstage areas. Is that true?

A: Wait! There's a chocolate fountain Backstage!?!? Golly, look at the time, I better. . . umm. . . get back to work. . . at the Backstage. . .

Party starts Friday! Have fun and let us know what you think of how the island looks!

In Other News: Some of you might remember the Penguin Tales writing contest from last year. Starting July 23 - August 5 we're going to be looking for new submissions! This year is exciting because it's the first time that French, Spanish, Portuguese and English can all submit in their own languages. Penguins Around the World!

Hello Penguins!

When the team was talking about the 101 Days of Fun activities, we wanted to include something called Penguins Around the World where you could showcase pictures of your penguins and puffles in cool places.

Penguin at the beach

To get things started, we've posted a few photos we took so you can see what it's all about. You can find them in the Community section. Our pictures might be there now, but Penguins Around the World is really for you.

Your pictures can be from a vacation, or even from your own town! If you don't have the toys, try creating something yourself, and then take a picture of it and send it in! We'd love to share your creativity with the community!

You can send in your pictures through the Art Submissions page. We'll be posting your first ones on Thursday, July 16 and then updating them every Thursday. We can't wait to see the spots where your penguins and puffles visit...

In Other News: You decided! Thanks to everyone who participated in the poll to choose a shirt for the August Penguin Style catalog. Your choice was: The Splatter! Splatter

My favorite thing to do at the Stage is to become part of the cast. I love to look at the scrpit and see which character I want to be, and pick out their costume. It's very fun to act onstage! Since we still really wanted you to help us decide on a shirt for August's Penguin Style catalog, just for today the comments will be turned off and we've put in a poll. Just click the checkbox beside the shirt you want to see, and then click the submit button!

Music Jam Sneak Peek!

Hello Penguins!

It's getting closer - the party so many of you have been looking forward to! Last year's Music Jam was a really big success because of all the ways you got involved. There were band practices everywhere, and cool music performances all over the island.

Music Jam Sneak Peek

This year's Music Jam will go from July 17 - 26, and if you rock Club Penguin anything like you did last year, it's going to be an even bigger and better party. There will be lots of stages (with different kinds of music for everyone), and just like last year, members will get a chance to purchase an All-Access Pass. We've heard rumors about some musical penguins making appearances - and about other surprises, too!

It's the perfect time to start getting ready, so grab your guitars and some friends, and find a good spot to make some noise. Be sure to let us know how your band rehearsals are coming along!

Ninja Hideout!

Hello Penguins!

We've seen so many of you having fun hanging out with your ninja buddies in the Ninja Hideout - There have been a lot of Cloud Waves happening before penguins disappear, so I know that tons of you already have the new item from the Martial Artworks catalog! It might be fun to try out your new ability all over the island, and to show other penguins the way of the ninja...

Ninja Vanish

In Other News: Some of you have asked about a visit from Sensei on the Spanish servers, and we wanted to let you know that he just couldn't make it there for this first visit. He'll be making more appearances in the future. In the meantime, we'd really love to hear what you think about the new Cloud Wave ability!

Sensei Visits!

Hello Penguins!

There's a lot of excitement for ninjas today because it's the very first time that Sensei has made an appearance outside of the Dojo! Our favorite ninja master will be making appearances in the Ninja Hideout until July 5, and we hope you get a chance to meet him.

Sensei

With his visit, there's a Martial Artworks catalog update with a new item called the Cloud Wave Bracers. They'll give ninjas the extra ability to disappear into a cloud before turning invisible... Let us know if you'll be saving up your coins so you can add them to your inventories. (I will!)

The team was really excited about having the possibility to meet Sensei and I was thinking that if I got the chance, I might ask him if he likes puffles. What would you say or ask if you got the chance to hang out with Sensei? Let us know!

Screenhog talks Sensei

Hi everyone! Screenhog here! Sensei is going to show up in the Ninja Hideout, and it got me thinking that there are many of you who may not know how Sensei made his first appearance on Club Penguin. It was just after Halloween 2008, and storm clouds had darkened the island. The storm was fiercest on the mountaintops, and the snow-covered Dojo was struck by lightning! Dig out Dojo

Lots of you worked with hardhats and jackhammers to repair the hole and shovel off the mounds of snow. Some of you noticed a strange figure clothed in a brown, ragged cloak who helped to clear the snow away. A couple of weeks later Sensei revealed his identity; He had been living on Club Penguin, and had finally chosen to make himself known! Sensei digging Were you there when Sensei showed up in Club Penguin?

In other news: Check out the fireworks today. Lots of you are celebrating different things this time of year so enjoy!
