Sports Catalog and A New Poll!
Hello Penguins!
You guys had some awesome guesses on Wednesday's blog about the new items in the Snow and Sports catalog. Squashing Bugs - Paint By Letters Coming Soon
Hello Penguins,
I wanted to give you an update about the new Paint By Letters book that was scheduled to launch. We found some bugs that need to be fixed, and unfortunately the game won't be ready to play yet.
We apologize for the delay and really appreciate your patience as we fix the bugs. We know you're excited about it and want you to know we are working hard to fix the bugs so when it is launched you can have fun playing it.
I'll let you know as soon as it's up and running and in the Book Room!

Paint by Letters Update
Hello Penguins!
Tomorrow in the Book Room, there will be a brand new Paint By Letters book. Here's a peek at "Lime Green Dojo Clean":
If you've never played before, it's a game where you can fill in words as they appear in the story. Sometimes you get a chance to choose words - and the penguin in the story will even be the same color as your penguin!
If you play, be sure to check out the pictures really carefully... You might find a few surprises. As always, we want to know what you think!

DS Game - International Update
Hello Penguins!
Many of you have been asking about being able to get the Club Penguin DS game in other countries, and the team has been working really hard to make it happen. And... we got a great update that we wanted to tell you about.
The Club Penguin Elite Penguin Force DS Game is already available in English for some Latin American countries, and we've confirmed that in the spring of 2009 (this spring!), it'll be on the shelves in the United Kingdom and Australia!!

Screenhog talks Dance Contest game!
Hi Everyone! Screenhog here.
The Night Club is one of the oldest rooms in Club Penguin, dating back to the very beginning. Since the start of Club Penguin, making our penguins dance has been a popular activity. Lots of you asked for it, so it seemed only natural that we introduce a dance game that included a multiplayer mode.
I wanted to show you a sketch from way back when we were first designing the Dance Contest game:

We hear from a lot of you that you love the parties in Club Penguin... And even though the member dance party just finished up, we've got another one coming!! A big "Thank You" to our members!
Hello Penguins,
We received an overwhelming amount of emails and comments from all of you members over the weekend thanking us for the Dance Party--but WE should be thanking you!
It's because of you that we are able to keep turning the great ideas and suggestions from the community into reality in Club Penguin. Without you guys we wouldn't be able to make Club Penguin as fun and safe as it is for everyone. So thank you for all your passion and contribution to the game!
Over the weekend, many of you let us know not only how happy you were we finally had another member party, but asked if we can do more for members in the future.
We are listening - and the answer is yes! This year, we're going to be adding more creative and exciting activities for you to do as members--and we decided to start now.
The Dance Contest game is going to stick around and we're giving you the multiplayer mode exclusively! Everyone will be able to play solo, but we wanted to give members something special.
We also decided to add one more thing to the game today, as a way to celebrate being a member. Check your Penguin Mail and look closely at your player card if you're a member. Right now, only you can see the badge that's there, but we're working on making it so that other penguins can see it, too! Let us know what you think.
We will continue making Club Penguin fun for everyone, but without members Club Penguin couldn't exist.

Dance Party Extended
Hello Penguins!
Thanks for your comments about how much fun you're having at the party! It was supposed to end on Sunday but we decided to extend it until Tuesday!! So member penguins - you and your friends can keep competing and dancing for another few days!
Some of you have been asking about Cadence and whether or not she will continue to show up at the party over the weekend and I wanted to let you know that she will be! We've heard a few concerns that Cadence won't show up unless the metal landing pad on the rooftop is clear. Don't worry--she takes the stairs just like you! So feel free to use the entire area to show off your moves!
As always, we love to hear what you think and what you're doing at the party!

I hope all you members are having fun at the dance party that started today at the Night Club! It's already packed with penguins doing some pretty cool moves--be sure to pick up the free item and join the mix!

Member Party Update
Hello Penguins!
Wow - There's been a lot of buzz about the member event that starts on Thursday! We're glad you're excited about it! Dancing is such a fun part of Club Penguin already, and we wanted to use this party to take it a few steps further!
Get ready to break down some super cool moves because there's going to be a lot of music and tons of room to dance--you can even get together with your friends and compete in the new Dance Contest Game! There are some cool things planned at the Night Club for the party, including three floors to explore and a chance to meet DJ Cadence! Check out this image--it's just a bit of what you can expect on Thursday when the party starts.
Remember, the party starts on Thursday, Jan. 15 and goes until Sunday, Jan. 18!

New Stage Today!

After yesterday's Screenhog post, a lot of you wrote really awesome haikus as comments - and they were great to read. Today we get to say hello to some cool superheroes because Gamma Gal & Shadow Guy have returned to the Stage to save Club Penguin from Squidzoid!

Screenhog Blogs Small Secrets...
Hello Penguins!
We like to hide little hidden references in Club Penguin all the time. Sometimes they are really obvious, like those two puffles at the top of the stage that are like those famous actors masks.
But sometimes, there are hidden things. If you're a ninja, you've been able to see this lantern in the catalog:
The price of the lantern is 575. Do any of you know about the Japanese poems called haiku? The Sensei almost always speaks in haikus. The rule with a haiku is that it's a three-line poem; the first line has five syllables, the second line has seven syllables, and the third line has five syllables. In other words: 5-7-5.
Isn't that cool? Or do we just have too much time on our hands sometimes?

Sneak Peek - Member Event!
Hello Penguins!
Many of you have been asking about a member party and wondering when there would be another one--it's definitely been a while since the last one.
Well, we've been working on exactly that! The next member party will happen in the middle of January, from the 15-18th. But it's more than just a party--wait till you see what else the team has planned! I'll have more details next week, and I don't want to say too much - but I can tell you that some of the items in the new Penguin Style catalog will come in very handy.
I managed to get a sneak peek from the team to show you. See if you can guess what the event might be about...

The first catalog for 2009 was released today! Check out the Gift Shop for the new Penguin Style catalog!
I don't want to give too much away, but I can tell you that a lot of the items in there are related to some really exciting stuff that will be happening later in January! I'll have more info on that next week!

Hello Penguins!
Happy New Year! We wanted to thank you for all of the creativity, imagination, ideas, and feedback you shared in 2008 -- we know that 2009 will even be better!!
There's been a lot of excitement about the results of Coins For Change and I wanted to give you a quick update about it and a breakdown of how the money will be donated.
Kids without parents or who are hurt by war
- Partners in the Horn of Africa will receive $30,000
- War Child will receive $340,000
Kids who are sick
- Partners in Health will receive $300,000
Kids who are poor and cannot go to school
- Free the Children will receive $330,000
The Kids Helping Kids section of the website has been updated with more details on the results of Coins For Change including info about how the charitable organizations will help kids around the world because of your generosity.
Your generosity over the holiday season has been truly inspiring and encouraging!
